Perfect fit for Fender Jazz bass. Good-sized storage compartment inside case with an area large enough for cords and straps. No wasted space inside. Each latch has a release you must activate before disengaging the latch - this prevents the case from accidentally opening while you're carrying it. One latch has a lock - the key is included.

This is NOT a good case if you travel often and check your bag. I have taken this case on over a dozen flights this year and it is slowly being destroyed. I have cracks and entire sections (especially corners) that have been smashed in. It is now a patchwork of duct tape. This design was not meant for a serious travelling musician. I am going to get an aluminum / plywood case, such as the ones made by Gator. They are twice the price, but I am hoping they will hold up to weekly travel. (NOTE: I travel with both United and Continental, and all the damage has come at the hand of the latter. Curious!)

This is a good quality case that does its job, which it to protect your bass. Ive flown countless times with this in checked baggage and many times the bass isnt even knocked out of tune after the flight. There simply isnt any better test regarding its protection. Latches are the best, and the TSA lock system saves hassles at the airport. The stackable feature is nice for storing at home, travel, or at the gig. By far the best case Ive seen that combines strength, function, and portability. Metal road cases are sturdy but weigh a ton and cost extra when flying... Fenders best case by far. All of my basses I travel with are in these. Enough said.

My Fender American Special Jazz bass fits like a glove. Exactly molded for the Fender Jazz Bass but will work for a Fender P bass too! Love the latches this case.
It came without the Keys but Musician's Friend Customer service told me they would work it from their end also but it would be much faster to contact SKB Customer Service. I did just that and no quibbles they happily sent me not 2 but 4 keys and I received them in 3 days! Excellent product and customer service from both Musician's Friend and SKB. I notified Musician's friend immediately that SKB was taking care of this so they would not duplicate the efforts to which they were grateful.

In short, I have to say I love this case. My Fender American Special Jazz Bass fits like a glove in this sculptured interior. Love the ease of use the handles offer. This case is perfect for my Jazz Bass. It has plenty of storage space for straps, cables, etc. The neck and body neatly fit into a formed space made just for your Fender P or J bass. It was missing the 2 keys when it arrived, but Musicians friend gave me the perfect tip for fast service by contacting SKB. There was absolutely no quibbling. Not only did they send it very fast but the package had 4 keys in it. Can't beat that kind of customer service. Highly recommend this case with Fender name on it and SKB quality!

I upgraded my case from a soft case to this case. It protects the bass so much better. You've got to know that you can't just throw it over your shoulder and go. Every time you gain something (very good protection) you lose something (hands free portability). The exchange is absolutely worth it...imo.
