This thing is an incredible idea, but could be better quality. Whenever I try to use the wire cutters, they either don't cut the strings, or just get stuck. The blades also now have these big dents in them from trying to cut. I havn't tried using the screws at all, but the flashlight keeps breaking and is pretty weak. The string winder tends to work pretty well, but sometimes the head bumps into the other strings pegs and gets them out of tune.

My primary reason for purchasing this product was to find a more durable string cutter than Planet Wave's string-cutting tool. I use Elixir?s Custom Light strings. I thought, "For such a beefed-up price, surely I'll be purchasing a high-quality product!" I was wrong. The inner third of the plier head features a scissor-like cutting mechanism as opposed to a ?blade-edge to blade-edge? contact cutting technique. Thus, the thinner strings are only going to adapt to cutting attempts, bending BETWEEN the blades rather than being severed. I even tried pulling on the string, but that only damaged my cutting-tool!!! Upon closer examination afterwards, the ?blades? themselves were dented. What kind of a string-cutter is this that it gets damaged by the thinner strings?I?m sorry I spent that much money on what is an otherwise useful "guitar leatherman", but the thing can't cut through butter. About the only neat thing I enjoy about this is the LED flashlight? too bad I can?t convert that into a key-chain.

It has potential

The tool has some neat features, like the alen wrenches and string winder. The flashlight is cool looking but really sucks, the allen wrenches are to rounded off and the pliers cant even handle my strings. I say wait and see if there is a second model, one with a lot better quality.

Cheap garbage

By John-BjJQM

This thing is terrible. The peg winder broke before I even used it! I don't picture the light lasting too much longer since it feels like it is falling apart. The tools are not precisely machined and are hard to get in or out. This tool was not well thought out or made well. It is telling that there is a spelling error on the package.

Save your money

By Whistlepig-p0Zrw

I bought one of these thinking it would be a great little tool. Except for the flashlight, it was worthless. The allen wrenches didn't fit any sockets on my Ibanez, nor the truss rod adjustment on my Yamaha. I agree with other reviewers that the flashlight is cool, but you can get one of these for as a keychain elsewhere. The idea of this product is great - this is just a very poor execution and quality item. How bad was it? I returned mine for a refund.

Wrong sized wrenches...

By A-RWwlL

from Everett, WA

The idea is good, but, as said before, the execution is terrible. Trying to adjust my strat-style tremolo bridge saddles is a joke. None of the wrenches fit properly. It's also awkward to try and use the thing as a screwdriver or stringwinder. The light only seems to work when it feels like it, but when it does it's very nice and bright. Overall, not even close to being worth the money. Hopefully someone will make a better verison of this.

Junk

By Nog

from Meriden, CT

This tool is a great idea with a lot of potential - unrealized potential, that is. The allen wrenches are all rounded off around the corners, so they'll probably strip out in no time (or strip out my screws). The flashlight doesn't work at all. I sent one unit back for a faulty flashlight, and when I received the new one, it also doesn't work. The pop-in string winder is a cheap piece of plastic that I expect to break off before I finish restringing a guitar; I suppose it was only designed for those emergency situations where you only need to replace one string. Nevertheless, it's really cheap and likely won't last long. The screwdrivers and needlenose pliers look like pretty capable tools, so I'll probably keep it for that, but I wouldn't recommend buying this - you won't use half of the tools it comes with, and the other half are of questionable quality at best.

Best Guitar Tool

By DeMeNtIaX

This product has many features. The string changer makes it very convenient to change strings. The tool is also very compact to make it very portable. This product has many great features and its small size make it a very great necessity for any guitar player.

Don't waste your money!

By KCChris

from Collinsville, OK

This is a poor excuse for a tool, the 'allen wrenches' don't even have square corners, I can't use this for jack. The light is not even well made, and it's a hassle to get the batteries in. The case must have been made for another tool, because it doesn't work well at all. Overall very shoddy workmanship.
