Designed specifically for instrument amplifiers.
Maybe the only thing lacking in your music is the Furman Power Factor Pro Power Conditioner. The quality of AC power has been so poor for so long, most musicians have no idea how great their amplifiers could really sound. When the AC power factor is poor, amplifiers sound muddy because their power supplies can't deliver when pushed. The scream and cry from a guitar loses bite and harmonics, basses lose their punch and weight, keyboards sound nasal and lose clarity, attack, and extension. The answer is Furman's Power Factor Pro.
The Power Factor Pro's Clear Tone Technology actually lowers the AC line impedance supplied by your wall outlet, while storing energy for peak current demands. In fact, there are over 45 amps of instantaneous current reserve in the Power Factor Pro. Additionally, Linear Filtering Technology dramatically lowers AC line noise to unprecedented levels in the critical audio frequency band. What does this mean? Just plug in your current starved amplifier, crank up the volume, and listen to the dynamics, harmonics, and clarity you've been missing!
Additionally, the Power Factor Pro is the most comprehensive power conditioner ever created for the serious musician. Maintenance free - Series Multi-Stage Protection guards your equipment from voltage spikes that can damage your clamps at 188 Vpk, 133 VAC RMS even when tested with multiple 6000 VAC - 3000 amp surges! The pro level over-voltage auto shutdown circuit assures you will never see your prized amplifier go up in flames because of a sustained voltage overload.
The Power Factor Pro has a generous 12-amp RMS capacity; a convenient 20-segment AC voltmeter; a detachable, locking AC cord; and 4 AC outlets, all contained in a small,
convenient, floor-standing package.
- 90 to 140 VAC ("E" versions 180 to 280 VAC)
- Over-voltage shutdown: 140 VAC typically ("E" versions 280 VAC typically)

I have used this with three different amps and a pedalboard: A 66' Fender Pro Reverb, a JCM 900 Marshall half stack, and an Ampeg SVT Classic through 4x10 HLF. Overall the PF improves clarity and reduces background noise, with subtle improvements to dynamics and headroom. This will make your tube amp louder, I gained probably 15-20% more volume across the board! Dynamics and punch were improved the most on the SVT, as well as reducing some muddiness in the low register and adding 'pop' to the high end, so I highly recommend it for bass players! The preamp on the JCM 900 proved to be clearer, with less overall gain (which was a little weird at first, not gonna lie), more overall volume on this amp in particular, and more picking dynamics coming through. Although I don't play metal, I could really see the benefits for guitar players who do. The pro reverb had extra sizzle on the top end, boomier bass (in a good way) and a definitely reduced hiss. I was looking at this product review from a tonal perspective, because it would be hard to rate the safety features of something that seems to always just work, thus limiting your perspective on overall benefits. This unit is built like a tank, and would handily double as a blunt murder weapon or anti-rollback device when placed under the wheel of a car. Also the voltmeter is sweet.
Tried with a marshall JTM30 and Vox AC30. while it did make amps cleaner and louder they lost some sweetness. May work better for class a/b than class A. in the end I went back to my wall strip with RFI. I will try the voltage regulator when I can afford instead..
This makes solid state amps sound 10x better, and tube amps way more consistent. You have to have one of these. I don't know how it works, but it does everything it claims and more. Get this and a valvulator and double your tone! I've had mine for 3 years, and I NEVER have power issues, even if my bandmates do (they did not want to spend the money to buy their own Powerfactors).
The Furman Power Factor Pro cleans up a lot of noise, it also improves consistency (especially with larger amps). I plug effects, amps, a wireless receiver, and a small stage monitor into it. I've had it about a year, its been stepped on by band mates and covered with smog machine goo and I've never had a problem with it.
