Here's how to maximize your use of Gorgomyte Cleaning Cloths: cut the polishing cloth into 2" squares. Use one square for the entire neck. Store the remaining squares in the resealable bag for future cleaning and conditioning.
The frets and fingerboard of your guitar get more hands-on use, and often abuse, than any other area of the instrument. The fine wood gets gummed up with finger oils and dirt. The frets collect these impurities too, making them dull and less than smooth.
Yet, this is the one area we seem to neglect when it's cleanup time. The reason is that it has always been a messy, delicate and time-consuming job. Bag contains a single sheet of oil-impregnated cloth. Cut the sheet into 2" squares. You'll get about 12 squares, or 12 treatments.
Use ONLY one piece to dress the entire fretboard. I turns BLACK almost immediately. Plan to use a separate rag (I use an old cloth diaper) to wipe the sludgy mess off the guitar neck. It wipes clean, doesn't stain binding, doesn't hurt lacquer finish, etc.
The cloth seems to contain mineral oil, and some microscopic abrasive material. It really takes off the grime and oxidation, and leaves the frets gleaming, with no scratches. Maybe it's because of the oil that keeps the gunk suspended, but the mess doesn't seem to get into the rosewood. So, no masking required. MUCH easier than masking and using traditional polishing compound. Regardless, just in case, I follow the treatment with a quick rub down of plain mineral oil, pulling off any remaining black stuff from the wood.
I change strings monthly on all my guitars, and use gorgomyte every other time. I might start using it every month, though, because it makes the frets feel great.
Watch out for pricing. I've found this stuff in various places on the internet, all the same product, but pricing varies by as much as 100%. Shop around.

You don't get a lot of cloth. Cut into 2 inch squares, like the instructions say, and it will last longer.

Restores and polishes the grimiest of fingerboards. This stuff is a guitar tech's dream. Pulls stuff out of the fingerboard that you couldn't even imagine was there. Cleans and conditions the wood whilst polishing the frets. Doesn't get much simpler than this. This is my 3rd batch since i've started repairing and performing tune-ups on both guitar and basses and every single one of my clients are amazed with this stuff. No more taking steel wool to those frets! Gorgomyte is awesome.

The saying,"as good as new" can't be used for Gorgomyte ,this leaves guitar frets and boards much better,let me explain,here in the U.K it's difficult to get hold of,but I managed to import some and first used it on a 1996 USA Jackson that I was selling,very good results,but then I expected a significant improvement on a neck of that age,so I thought I would try it on my 2 week old Gibson SG,the amount of gunk that came off both frets and board were astounding,this stuff works and works good

This is the best fret polisher I've used. I was very satisfied with it because my fret shined. It is pricey but does a great job. The only problem is that it has a distinct odor like scent so if you are thinking about buying this I would also recommend the dunlop lemon oil for the finishing touch with nice scent other than that its great. Once you try out your instrument you will feel and hear the difference with your touch,sustain and bends.I will purchase this product again.

Wow. This stuff works really well. Your guitar plays so much better when the neck and frets are free of dirt. And this makes it really easy to get it off, don't have to sit there and scrub it forever to get it clean, and your frets just shine.

My only hesitation in giving Gorgomyte a 5.0 rating is the price. This brings the best out in every guitar I use it on. One vintage dealer thought I had refretted an old J-200...nope, just cleaned the frets. He was amazed! If you bend a lot and play pretty clean you will hear the difference, but no matter what you'll feel the difference. Amazing stuff.I remember hearing it is essentially "horn cleaning cloth" but have never found any in bulk.

I really like this product. I was hesitant at first that it would not work, but was very happily surprised. I could not believe the junk that came off the frets and fretboard!! The cloth was totally black when I was done. Bending feels so much smoother now, I wish I had done this sooner!! One word of caution though...With maple fretboards, it will turn black as the frets are polished, but most, if not all, wipes easily off.

I don't really clean my guitars up the way I should when I change my strings. If anything, I'll just run some Fast Fret over it to get the gunk off my neck. There's something amazing about the Gorgomyte, though. This stuff actually buffs your frets. The cloth is treated with some sort of chemical that eats the tarnish off your frets. Just cut the cloth up into 2-inch pieces. You should get about 15-20 pieces. Just use one piece on your frets when you've got all the strings off and wipe the gunk off with a different soft, dry cloth. It's pretty quick and easy. Your guitar will play better. It's kind of pricey which is why I rated the value lower, but it's really worth it in the long run.
