Comments about Gibraltar 6713QP Quad Platform Tom Stand:
I really love this stand. This stand is able to hold at least 2 toms AND 2 cymbals, perhaps more if you have the right add-ons. It works great and is very sturdy when I play. There have been 0 problems during actual play time.
While I was setting it up, however, I ran into some problems. One of rhe clamps that hold the L-rod balls would not tighten with the L-rod balls I was using, so I had to get another ball from an older drum set I have, and I had to remove the spring and the washer from it in order for it to tighten correctly. I'm not sure if I just have a slightly defective item, or if they're all that way. It was an easy fix, but I wish i didn't have to do it.
After all that, it works great! It's sturdy, easy to use, and holds many compnents. If you want to save space, time and money but don't like using racks, this is the product for you. Gibraltar makes some amazing hardware, and I have bought 2 stands and a throne from them in the past few months. The only thing keeping this product from a 5-star rating is the hassle in setting it up.
