1996 American Standard StratocasterOne of the screws included was too long and would've gone through the other side of my headstock. Package was the same as the "GraphTech String NUT" and didn't come with ANY instructions. After 3 emails back and forth to Graph Tech I'm realizing now that there are no sets available that include 2 short screws so apparently they expect you to buy 2 sets just to get 2 of the screws you need. Also need to do a lot of sanding in order to get this the correct height, no information at all provided on this thing.
I just got these in today, after having to wait a little over a week for which I blame the USPS due to the X-Mas mail rush. I already have the Graph-Tech bridge saddles on my MIM Strat and decided to order a set of these for my headstock because even though I have Fender locking tuners, my B and E string still go out of tune. Once I installed this bad boy,I didn't have that problem anymore and as a bonus, the sustain and tone of my Strat increased , thus making me one happy camper. I reccommend these to anyone who owns a Mexican Strat. Trust me, you won't regret it!
Wow, now this is a product from a great manufacturer that really works: fine material, sleek design, no more squeak-pinch and "beefy" looking. Throw on a new nut and transform your Strat. into Stratzilla! or Frankenstrat! Create your own monster and enjoy!
I recently replaced my Tele string tree with this one and you can literally feel the difference in smooth string stretching when doing bends. The string glides right our and falls immediately back into perfect tune. I combined this with Grap-Tech saddles and locking tuners and I can go for weeks without using the electronic tuner. I also plan to replace my nut with a Graph-Tech.
This was exactly what I needed for my Strat. Considered much more expensive locking tuners. Really glad I opted for this affordable upgrade first (with free shipping). Very easy to install. Lower the string tension, replace/install, re-tune. It's that simple. I noticed a better tone and resonance right away. The more I played the better my guitar stayed in tune. String bends are much smoother, easier, and return to pitch. These aren't the end all to tuning woes, but already I stay in tune at least 75% longer than before. Combine these with locking tuners and a Graph Tech nut, and I'm sure any tuning issues would be over. Never would have thought simple string trees could improve so much at once. When you consider price versus improvements in tone, resonance, and tuning stability, you can't beat the value.
Bought this and installed it on my Ibanez import. Worked great; I ordered some string saddles by Graph tech today. Really impressed with the quality of their stuff. These string trees make my guitar sound much better, hold my strings in place a lot better than my previous ones, and work great with my Fender Schaller locking tuners (guitar is pretty much cobbled together).
