OVERVIEW

Never accidentally knock your guitar off the stand again.

The Duo Guitar Stand safely supports 2 guitars or basses. Features innovative Hercules Auto Grab System (AGS) yokes: the arms turn in and up with the weight of your guitars to hold them securely and simply open up when you lift them off. All contact points with the instruments feature Specially Formulated Foam (SFF) rubber to protect your finish. Also features the Hand Grip Height Adjuster, which makes adjustments a breeze with a locking pin to secure the stand in place. Folding backrests flip down to support your guitars and back up for storage and transport.

All Hercules stands are safe for most nitrocellulose lacquer finish guitars*.

*Hercules tests for many types of nitro finish, however some guitar manufacturers change their nitro mixture often. Guitars should never be stored on a stand...always in the case.

This Hercules stand is a great stand for two instruments. Good construction, folds in the right places, and is quite secure for two instruments. I use it for holding two bass guitars and works very good. I have only had mine now for about a month. However, this stand is what we use at our church on stage and we have never had a mishap. Been using it for about ten years total and never a malfunction.

There is a video out on Youtube that shows a "potential" problem with narrow headstock guitars, such as a Telecaster, not being very secure in the stand. We have a player at our church that uses a Tele in the stand fairly often and he has never had an issue with it. So, be careful if you have a Tele.

This stand folds nicely. Has several points of collapse, which takes a little getting used to, but it is pretty easy. Pretty portable. I chose this stand over body type stands because I think the lockable neck clamps of this stand hold a guitar better and i have seen guitars fall right out of body type stands.

I got mine on sale at Musicians Friend so the price was right. I highly reccommend this product - wish it was American made.

The stand worked well at first. But after about a year's use, the plastic parts (e.g., the tightening knob and grip handle) seemed to deteriorate and get sticky. It would rub off on my hands and was difficult to remove. It's kind of important to not have sticky goo on your hands when you're playing guitar! Then just recently, the plastic/rubber adjustment handle broke....the screw or something came loose and the spring went flying. Can't be fixed. This stand costs way too much for the aggravation they cause. Otherwise, this stand performed well. But I wouldn't buy one again.

Comments about Hercules Stands GS422B Duo Stand Guitar Stand:

I have about five of these stands, with about a 75% success rate.

First the positive: Folds up nice and compact. Sturdy until they fail. Easy to set up and tear down in a traveling situation.

Cons: Height adjustment clutch tends to wear out if you put two nine pound guitars on it. For some reason some (not all) have developed a sticky residue on the rubber parts, so bad the stands are useless. The metal sleeves on the yoke mechanism rust.

Seem to work best for acoustic instruments that are lighter in weight.

Hercules customer support is nonexistent. Lifetime warranty is a joke.

I wrote a review earlier that I had a problem with the plastic parts becoming sticky. I was able to contact the manufacturer, and they made things right! The new stand seems to be made of a different material. I can now recommend this stand. It is very nice and very stable, and the company is first rate in my experience!

the olny negative is the sliding part of the main shat needs a shot of silicone spray once in a while as I play outdoors in Floridas humidity. I feel very safe with my valuable Buscarino guitars on this stand

I really liked this stand until the rubber parts became sticky after a few years. This seems to be a common problem. Now when I raise or lower the stand, I have to get the goo off my hands. Also have a music, and mic stand that have the same problem.

Comments about Hercules Stands GS422B Duo Stand Guitar Stand:

Only got this a short time ago, but gives a good first impression. Seems pretty sturdy, & it was on sale so I went for it. I've been using a double stand for the last decade made by Ultimate Stands, & it's getting a little worn. Really good stand but they don't seem to make it anymore. Glad I found this, even if I can't seem to find the pick holder slot's anywhere! lol!
Bought the Dunlop pick holder to attach to it like I done on the Ultimate stand, so no big deal.

I take this stand to gigs where I use a few guitars, accustic and resonators. It holds ones I am not playing securly and with the easy grab way the guitars is held it is convient to change guitars.

It is very stable and as it folds, is convient to take to gig.

I do not leave my guitars in the stand when I am home, the only safe place is in their cases. Have only used the stand for a few weeks so can't comment on reliability or "sticky" issue

No problems so far, but I just got it. It seems well made and quite secure. My concern is about deterioration of rubber/plastic parts over time that I read about in reviews. Others complained about customer service by manufacturer. If it proves durable I would raise my review to 5 stars.
