Hercules Stands

Never accidentally knock your guitar off the stand again.

The Duo Guitar Stand safely supports 2 guitars or basses. Features innovative Hercules Auto Grab System (AGS) yokes: the arms turn in and up with the weight of your guitars to hold them securely and simply open up when you lift them off. All contact points with the instruments feature Specially Formulated Foam (SFF) rubber to protect your finish. Also features the Hand Grip Height Adjuster, which makes adjustments a breeze with a locking pin to secure the stand in place. Folding backrests flip down to support your guitars and back up for storage and transport.

All Hercules stands are safe for most nitrocellulose lacquer finish guitars*.

*Hercules tests for many types of nitro finish, however some guitar manufacturers change their nitro mixture often. Guitars should never be stored on a stand...always in the case.

I have had this stand for over a year and had no problems with it. I don't gig a lot, only once or twice a month, but it has proven to be very reliable. I can see where it may be a problem when using a guitar with a narrow headstock like a Tele or Danelectro but since I play Gibsons and a Strat I have no issues with it. I can put a heavy Les Paul on one side and an acoustic on the other and not have to worry about it tipping over, even outside in a strong breeze. The design works well for quick guitar changes between songs because the guitar's strap doesn't get tangled in the bottom support like conventional stands.

I took off one star because it won't work with all guitars but, I would buy another one, and may do so if needed later.

At first I loved this stand, it holds the instruments very secure, and was very portable. But after about eight months parts started breaking, now every moving part has broken with the exception of the legs. The extension part that enables it to be raised or lowered is also stuck now rendering it completely useless. Yes I do travel a lot and play a lot of shows, but I take exceptionally good care of my gear and this thing has broken from just repeated ordinary use.

Comments about Hercules Stands GS422B Duo Stand Guitar Stand:

We do a massive setup 3 times a week for a 1,000 person audience, and these are perfect for the following reasons: (a) they're compact, so storage is easy, (b) they're sturdy, so I never worry about our instruments, and (c) they hold instruments at the neck, meaning they can hold off-shape instrument bodies like explorers and thunderbird basses / guitars. I wouldn't buy any other stand.

Falls apart and plastic parts get sticky

Comments about Hercules Stands GS422B Duo Stand Guitar Stand:

The stand worked well at first. But after about a year's use, the plastic parts (e.g., the tightening knob and grip handle) seemed to deteriorate and get sticky. It would rub off on my hands and was difficult to remove. It's kind of important to not have sticky goo on your hands when you're playing guitar! Then just recently, the plastic/rubber adjustment handle broke....the screw or something came loose and the spring went flying. Can't be fixed. This stand costs way too much for the aggravation they cause. Otherwise, this stand performed well. But I wouldn't buy one again.

I've had two of these stands now and the yokes got out of line on both. If I were throwing it in a truck scrambling to get from one gig to another it would be one thing. I'm a part time musician now and very careful with my equipment. I would not recommend nor will I purchase another Hercules guitar stand

Switching from bass to guitar, I use this stand a lot. I have two other single Hercules stands and I have never had a problem with any of them. I keep this double stand in my studio and love it. I also do a lot of road work and carry around a PA system and have found my Hercules stands very durable. I would purchase these stands again in a heart beat!

Comments about Hercules Stands GS422B Duo Stand Guitar Stand:

...I saw this stand at the International Guitar Festival in Dallas this past April - liked it, ordered it - I am pleased with the sturdiness, the stability, and the ease of operation.
Unfolds easily - is very versatile in that it can be quickly configured to fit any guitar.
Construction is sturdy - stability is excellent -
A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality.

Comments about Hercules Stands GS422B Duo Stand Guitar Stand:

See features above!!! This product is defintely a "10," if not for its unattractive high price.
The GS422B guitar stand has all the angles covered in its design. There is the gravitational grip action, metal support for hangers, metal coupling for extra support when hanger is engaged, extra long height extension for long scaled bass guitars, support for back of guitar locks in place during use, and an extra large base expansion to ensure that the use of only one guitar will not cause unit to tip over. The GS422B is designed better than the single unit due to the aforementioned features.
In my opinion, the GS422B guitar stand is currently the best built unit on the market.
Unless you get a deal, store credit, and/or survey bucks, the high price of the unit is very unattractive.
