Although probably the most innovative compact and interesting looking guitar stand, after working with it for a year I have to give it a thumbs down. Fender Strats because of their contoured body will not sit in the stand as well as a guitar with an even lower back like a Les Paul so that one has to take a few more seconds to carefully turn the Strat if you want it to be optimally supported. Your guitar will also sit in the stand with a strong leaning-back angle which you may not like and also may present you with the uncomfortable feeling of neck vulnerability. The stand is easy to accidentally step on when its empty if your not keeping an eye out for it. If you do that, the back leg(s) will bend and you may have to disassemble it in order to bend the legs back properly like I had to. After doing that, a little while later someone else stepped on it and bend it again so that one of the legs no longer compacts. It's a cool stand but it's got too many design shortcomings for the road or anywhere in my opinion. I also feel it's overpriced. I would stay away from it. On the other hand it will fit in your guitar pouch - I'll sacrifice that luxury for more security!

I bought this stand because I wanted something that would fit in my gig bag. While it's great from a portability standpoint, it's not the most stable stand out there. You really gotta make sure that your guitar is seated properly, especially if you have a guitar with an asymmetical body like a strat.
It will not hold fender basses at all.
Also, the guitar leans very far back.
One really nice positive is that it functions superbly as a tilt back amp stand if you don't extend the arms that hold the guitar body. I've been using it as such and ended up buying the TravLite model, which is 100 x more stable and still fits in my gig bag, albeit not as compact.
This is a great idea. It's nice and compact, but it falls short of it's intended purpose.
It seems sturdy enough. Haven't had any problems.
I don't think this stand is worth the price. The TravLite model is less expensive and is miles ahead of this one. This should be less expensive.

Comments about Hercules Stands istand Electric Guitar Stand:
The stand works great. Sets up in a few seconds but hides in a gig bag easily. Pull out the back legs and flip the top open and it's ready. I Sharpied "The Decepticon" on mine...Lol! What do you have to lose on this one? Electric guitars only. Nothing thicker than a Les Paul.

Comments about Hercules Stands istand Electric Guitar Stand:
This is NOT a one-size-fits-all stand so if you are looking for a stand for every instrument get something else. This stand is good for thin bodied electric guitars, Ukuleles, Mandolin, etc. Basses and Acoustic Guitars will NOT fit on this stand. We have 2 of them in our lesson studios. When the proper instrument is on it, it works as advertised. It breaks down small and flat for transport which is a nice touch. Don't forget to pull out the legs in the back (Directions are on the bottom).

Comments about Hercules Stands istand Electric Guitar Stand:
I love this stand. I got it for a steal, thinking I'd only be wasting a little bit if it were a bad product, but it is phenomenal. I have two other guitar stands, and the only criticism I can proffer pertaining to this one is that it wobbles VERY SLIGHTLY. I can imagine this would be a concern for the gigging guitarist whose gig involves a lot of movement on stage, but other than that, the product is flawless.

Comments about Hercules Stands istand Electric Guitar Stand:
Other than when on a carpeted floor, I can't complain at all about this stand. I can't say for sure that I would trust it when gigging, but that's not why I bought it. The base is quite hefty, so you need not worry about it rocking around, but the retractable legs don't do well on carpet.
On the other hand, this thing is EXTREMELY portable, it works GREAT on hard flooring, and it looks really cool. It's like a transformer toy for a musician. I am pleased with my purchase.

Comments about Hercules Stands istand Electric Guitar Stand:
Better than leaning guitar on an amp, like jams you go to,put it in front of amp,not in open where someone can knock guitar over, just make sure it's seated properly and guitar is seated properly in stand.I will never use gig bags, and would not put in gig bag if I did,so I don't know about that, just carry it it's small .For gigs I use rockstand by warwick, holds 5 guitars, but I only put 3 on it, as to not bang guitars in to one another

Comments about Hercules Stands istand Electric Guitar Stand:
I purchased 2 of these as novelty gifts and were worth the price for "stupid deals". Otherwise far over-priced for what they offer the consumer. Too compact to offer sufficient stability for most guitars.

Comments about Hercules Stands istand Electric Guitar Stand:
Very well thought out design.
It might weigh a gig bag down a little for those that take public transit to gigs, but the weight is what keeps it stable. It has good grips on electric guitars and basses, but if your band has acrobatics involved I would consider something more encompassing. A hard side swipe would most likely knock your guitar over...
Excellent for bedroom or home recording use; massive space saver.
Doubtful that strong vibrations like a drum and bass duo would knock your guitar over, but a proper wall mount or a stand with neck support is of course ideal for longer storage.
This version will not fit an acoustic or semi-hollow, though there is one available last time I checked. Looks very durable. (And futuristically cool.)

Bought as gifts for Hollywood music guy! He loved the product! Terms of shipping misunderstood, but was promptly taken care of. I would recommend "Musciansfrien Friends"to every one! They really care that you are a satisfied customer!!
