OVERVIEW

A telescoping-boom mic stand with a retainer that makes attaching the boom to the stand and adjusting its position easy.

This short, low-profile, telescoping mic boom stand in black adjusts to your desired length and stays securely in place with no slipping or sliding. Comments about Hercules Stands Low-Profile, Short Microphone Boom Stand:

First, allow me to comment on the weight of the base; PERFECT

Great for recording Kick drum, Floor Toms. A pair would be great for stereo recording of a seated player (We will be ordering a second shortly). Made getting a great Djembe recording simple. The included mic clip's design kind of took me aback at first however, for the miking of guitar amps, this clip is, again, PERFECT. The clip holds a Sennheiser E609 so much better than, the clip which comes with the microphone. The clip will hold, SDC pencil microphones, stage dynamics, pretty much anything you can get the clip around. The mounting of the clip to the stand initially concerned me however, no issues whatsoever, and we've put this stand through its paces. Great short stand/boom, get 2.

Comments about Hercules Stands Low-Profile, Short Microphone Boom Stand:

Hercules designed a nice low prof mic, that takes up very little studio floor space/live stage space, and won't get tipped over easily. Has some nice range of flexibility and height as well. Def recommend.

Comments about Hercules Stands Low-Profile, Short Microphone Boom Stand:

I bought a few Hercules stands when trying to decide on the best stands for my studio. I find Hercules stands to generally be over-engineered such that they work against themselves, which is pretty bad since you end up paying extra $$ for that. The knobs are not comfortable to use, particularly the tiny ones on the telescoping part of the boom arm. It appears this design may have changed more recently though.

Also, keep in mind, there is NO HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT for this stand. The vertical piece is a fixed height that ends up somewhere in between the max and min heights on a typical short stand.

The Quik-N-EZ system doesn't work well with non-Hercules products and even then is definitely less secure than a typical screw-on system.
