Comments about Jensen C12K 100W 12" Replacement Speaker:

So if you're in doubt of your current 65 DRRI speaker, I have some experience in the matter of speaker swapping.

I tried 7 different speakers, C12N, 12F150, P12N GA-SC64, Cannabisrex, Creamback, and of course the C12K. The only reason I ever started changing speakers is because people on forums were saying "the magic is in the speaker change", so I got on the band wagon. I went through each and every one of the above speakers, and inevitably came up dissatisfied. I owned my DRRI for less than a year in this time period, and inevitably I ended up getting a C12K after I sold the original. Once I installed the speaker it was like reversing time back to the moment when I bought the amp, and i remember just melting into the sound coming out of the amp. That was the C12K pumping out that sound, so I cannot believe I spent so much time just burning money on something I ended up not needing.

That was my experience, the C12K was Fender, for Fender. I don't have the time to mess around with speakers, and it's a shame I wasted so much time when I could've been learning, but if nothing else I got experience, and I hope that someone else may consider this. Really, I have no idea why I changed anything on the deluxe, even though I changed the tubes and got some mods, I can't say it's any better or worse than the day I got it. If I could go back in time, I would've just left it stock, there was never an issue with the amp, including the speaker.

This wonderful sounding speaker brought my piece of junk laney amp to life. Thank you Jesen for the best tone always, for any amp and style. buy it over a celestion.. which is originally what came in my laney, it sounded dull & muffled.

Comments about Jensen C12K 100W 12" Replacement Speaker:

This speaker is very impressive. Comes OEM in my 65 Deluxe Reverb. It is my first experience with Jensens (usually, I use Eminence Speakers) and this speaker covers all of the bases with ease. From jazz to country and rock, if you like a punchy, immediate soundin speaker with nice mids and good solid bass - this is your speaker.

    Excellent speaker for Fender amplifiers

    By Wpgjazzman

Comments about Jensen C12K 100W 12" Replacement Speaker:

This is the ultimate replacement speaker for Fender amplifiers that produced the great 50s and 60s rock and roll sound. I'm referring to the Duane Eddy, Ventures, Gene Vincent and Beach Boys eras.I put these C12K speakers in a 2-12 Bandmaster cabinet and was amazed at how the sound improved over the E*in*ce speaker that were installed to replace the original 1966 speakers.

Comments about Jensen C12K 100W 12" Replacement Speaker:

Replaced a blown Eminence spkr in a Fender Twin Rvb amp. Although the Eminence is slightly brighter, with an SM57 at close proximity, the C12K has a slightly warmer, yet clear tone, and does justice to the Fender amp.

Comments about Jensen C12K 100W 12" Replacement Speaker:

Came standard in my DRRI. Great mids and very nice bass and despite the forum musicians who play mostly on their computer keyboards - this speaker does not need to be changed out.

Yes it does appear to take quite a few hours to break in but after about 20 hours I can hear it improving still rounding out the bass and smoothing highs.

I like it so much I,ve purchased one for my Tech 21 Trademark 60 with startling results.

I play mostly clean or on the edge of break up so won't speak to it's ability to handle distortion.

I've been a Vintage 30 lover for years and this beats it everywhere IMO. Better bass and not quite such a prominent mid range and it can sparkle if you want that. Great note seperation
        and definition.

Many change this speaker out and then find it was the best choice - give it a proper try out and you won't be sorry.

Comments about Jensen C12K 100W 12" Replacement Speaker:

I have had a lot of amps and the speakers they come with, I bougthA Fender Super Twin Reverb 1978 and replaced the speakers with this Jensen, and I couldn't belive the tone, the fullness and the clarity these speakers did to this old amp, wheter I play with my Strat, Tele, Gibson Les Paul, Gibson ES 335 Hollow body, Rickenbacker 450, or my Squier telecaster custom ultramod, glued neck to body and seymour duncans...the sound is uncomparable!!! After playing for a wile with tube amps and this very good speakers, I have to say I would never want to go back to solid state Amps, I prefer the tone, vibe and vintage sound.... That's all...

Comments about Jensen C12K 100W 12" Replacement Speaker:

I have a DRRI that came with an Alnico P12Q--nice speaker, but I wanted more volume for some gigs, so I started a speaker quest. Have tested (and broken in) a WGS G12C, and a Weber California Ceramic. Both are good speakers (especially the Weber), but when I finally tried out a Jensen C12K, I found that THAT was the sound, sensitivity, girth, and loudness I had been searching for. It's louder than any of the others and sounds absolutely great, even straight out of the box. I only have a few hours on it but it's staying in the amp. I mostly use my baja tele with '58 pickups, brass saddles and bone nut (i.e. bright) into the non-modified vibrato channel (also bright) and this speaker just sparkles without being harsh at all. It also sounds great with my Les Paul Classic w/Duncan Antiquities. Just need to adjust the eq slightly and you're good to go. I have heard the speaker described as the "dull butter knife" of speakers, while others complain of speaker cry and top-end shrillness. I have found neither of these to be the case at all. Like I said, plenty of sparkle and huge bottom end--and it's not even broken in yet. I can't wait!
I know this speaker is stock on the standard DRRI's and reissue Twins and I think Fender made a really solid choice. This speaker with this amp (and guitars) makes for a great sonic stew. No wonder so many guys I've read say they end up throwing the C12K back in to their Deluxes after going through a series of different speakers. Good job Jensen and Fender! And hats off to MF for the sale price.

I installed this in my Fender Deluxe Reverb that I purchased new in 1973. I replaced the original speaker which I intend to have re-coned. The tone is right on the money. I re-tubed the amp as well and now it is back to its original sound. I love this amp/speaker combination.

The clean sound you get and the warmth of the tubes through the speaker is classic Fender! Great Great sound.

                  I made an excellent choice!!!!!

Replaced the Speaker this morning in my Marshall AVT2000 100W amp. The sound difference was fantastic. The old speaker was too bright and "brittle" on overdrive and I couldn't get a decent sound our of my Les Paul. All that has changed with this speaker, absolutely over the moon with it.

A used Fender Deluxe RI came with someone's idea of a replacement speaker in it. This Jensen speaker is what was originally in this RI amp. The change back to the Jensen is startling and wonderful. Even before "breaking in", this speaker gives the amp the sound that Fender intended, that we expect; not the sound of some random cheesy substitute.

Fitted this speaker today into my Marshall AVT2000 100W amp and the difference was fantastic. Could not get a good overdriven sound from my existing speaker using my Les Paul. There was too much top end and I could not make it sound decent. This speaker has changed all that and brought new life to my Amp and Les Paul, and my Strat too.

These speakers are the perfect replacement for my 70's Randall Commander II. The amp is basically a solid state version of a twin reverb. It has a ton of power and does clean sound really well. I blew the original speakers by playing at very high volumes. With the Jensen C12K's this amp took on a new life. The clean sounds are perfect, and in combination with my ds-1 it sounds like a vintage rock beast. Buy these speakers!

Comments about Jensen C12K 100W 12" Replacement Speaker:

Speaker can handle massive distortion with great note seperation and clarity. Excellent speaker in high gain amps. It is a late break up speaker as opposed to early break up speakers. Late break up speakers are true to the distortion running into them and do not add or color the distortion.

Comments about Jensen C12K 100W 12" Replacement Speaker:

I recently purchased this Jenson C12k for a replacement speaker in a Marshall DSL 15, Huge difference in sound. The dsl has 6v6 tubes which are more common on Fenders like the 65 Deluxe and Princeton. The Magnet was twice the size of the stock Celestion. This gave the clean channel much more headroom and made the dirt channel much more controllable. I play a 59 Strat and this produces some great punchy Strat tones that you would expect from a (sorry Marshall ) Fender, absolutely beautiful. But yet when you ad some dirt it still sings like a Marshall. Hmmm could there really be such a thing. This is as close as I have ever in my 35 plus years of playing come to the best of both worlds and at a tolerant volume, NICE.
