My 76 champ's original speaker was breaking up at around 4 on the volume setting this speaker has a later and smoother breakup that gives me more control of the tone and distortion. It has that classic Fender sound and a nice powerful grit.

I bought one of these speakers to restore a '78 Vibro Champ. The amp now sounds better than my '66 (Blackface) Vibro Champ. I can say this is the right speaker for your Fender Champ. The only peer I have found is the original Fender speaker installed in the factory back in the day.

I also was a little disapointed with the "muddy" sound of my Bugera V5. NOT ANYMORE!!! This speaker opened up the sound totally. More highs, better mids and plenty of bass. And yes, even the reverb sounds better.If you are thinking of a small speaker upgrade this should do the trick. Also, the speedy service from Musicians Friend was a plus.

Replaced the stock speaker in my stock valve junior with the C8r. Clean it sounds great, pretty sparkly (this is a dark sounding amp). Was a little harsh, but then after it broke in the highs softened a bit. With an overdriven tone, the speaker is very vintage sounding. Kinda fuzzy and crunchy. Made my amp sound better, and even a crappy yamaha GA-10 practice amp sounds good through it.

I wanted to replace the speaker on my Fender Frontman 15 (MIM), a great little bedroom practice amp. The sound was OK but the Jensen really added a lot of depth and rounded out the sound nicely.

I think the Bugera V5 is one of the best buys out there for a small tube amp, but the original speaker is a bit dark. This Jensen C series speaker is a great choice to bring this litttle amp to life. Took 5 minutes to solder and its ready to rock. I recommend this upgrade to anyone using or thinking of getting the Bugera V5. BTW I mostly play telecasters and strats which sound great with the upgraded amp, but the added mid and high range from this speaker really helps cleanup the sound of humbuckers as well.
I've been using my Bugera V5 more lately and wanted better tone - this does the trick. Adds more balanced mids and highs. An easy low cost upgrade to a nice little amp.

I ordered my second Jensen C8R speaker in February 2011. Like the first one, it was installed in a second Vox Pathfinder with the same result as the first. Wonderful tone! This speaker adds a little increase in volume, but maybe the best benefit is the definition of notes, the clarity that this speaker adds. To start with, I'm a big fan of Vox Pathfinders, and this speaker makes a great amp even better.

Based on another review, I bought this as a replacement speaker for a Bugera Vintage 5 amp. I didn't like the sound of the Bugera speaker and the distortion was very muddy sounding. The Jensen is more dynamic sounding and the distortion is much better, in my opinion. There is even a noticeable improvement in the digital reverb. I was a little disappointed in the amp's sound but now I'm quite satisfied with its performance.
