Comments about Jensen Jet Tornado 12" 100 Watt Guitar Speaker:

I've used the best. EV12L, Tone Tubby, Weber, many more. The Jensen Jet Torpedo is a very good speaker.
First it's so light, you don't even notice it's in the Cabinet or Combo. Second, it has a very wide range of smooth tone. In my 60 watt Mesa Boogie MKIIb I can sculpt the tone. It's a great Jazz speaker if you boost the mids and lows with some presence. Creamy. If you want high end, boost that and get amazing sparkle, almost like a good PA without being sterile like one. Who says you can't get sparkle out of a 1980 Mesa Boogie? Zingy! I highly recommend this speaker to all who are tired of heavy equipment. Take 10 or 20 lbs off your amp and enjoy life. It really is a good sounding guitar speaker, kind of fun. The Tone Tubby is unbelievable and I still use it when I need the very best of tone, small gigs with my Arch Top. But I can gig or jam with pride using the Jet. Probably not as good in a 20 watt amp. I would use a Tone Tubby or Cannabis Rex for that. The Jet sounds best if you have some watts behind it. I'm not talking about playing it loud although you certainly can. It just seems to sound a bit better with medium or high power amps, even at low volumes. You can boost any part of the spectrum you want and sculpt your sound. Very versitile. It's different than the ceramic and alnico speakers we grew up with, but in a good way. It's sold me on the fact that Neodymium speakers are here to stay for guitar. It seems to be getting sweeter and richer sounding as I break it in. I say 3 or 4 weeks to really get it going, but it sounds good right out of the box. It's worth checking out!

Comments about Jensen Jet Tornado 12" 100 Watt Guitar Speaker:

I do not recommend this speaker to anyone. Just 1 month of normal use of this speaker through a clean 50 Watt head, I began experiencing rattling and buzzing on lower bass notes. I had my tubes checked out and a few of them replaced but I still had the same issue. I contacted Musician's Friend who did not allow me to get a replacement and referred me to Jensen themselves who also refused to replace it and claimed they don't have any sort of warranty on their speakers. I will think twice from purchasing from Musician's Friend and I will certainly never be buying another Jensen speaker. The speaker itself wasn't really even worth it even when it was functioning properly.

Don't make the same mistake I have.

        Great speaker for vintage tones.

Comments about Jensen Jet Tornado 12" 100 Watt Guitar Speaker:

I put a pair in a tech 21 trademark 120. The idea behind the amp is analog circuitry but no tubes. I can dial the amp in now to sound like a blues Deville, Princeton, or Deluxe Reverb. The only place it suffers is with thick tones. With Celestion seventy 80's I could get a modern overdrive sound with a smooth distortion voice. These speakers are good but the Celestions sound a wee bit better on the low distorted notes.

        Sweeter than Celestions

Comments about Jensen Jet Tornado 12" 100 Watt Guitar Speaker:

The Jet Tornado is a very high-class sounding speaker. For those looking for raunchier rock tone, you can stick with Celestions or Eminence. If you'd like a more refined top end that is slightly bright, but actually pleasing to the ear, along with a round, warm bass, to bring out the best in that pricey boutique amp, the jets are for you.
