Just got the Kaces Eclipse electric guitar bag for my Taylor T5-S the hard case that comes with the guitar is far too heavy for me to take anywhere. I didn't want to buy the $100 bag made for the T5 but I wanted a well padded bag that fit correctly...this bag fit the bill! It's plush but compact (body depth wise) and couldn't fit the guitar better. It's also very nice looking; there is nothing like it for the price I paid. Get it while you can!
I just got this Gigbag today for my odd-shaped Schecter Devil Spine that no Softshell/Hardshell Case seems to fit(Within my price-range and excluding the badly reviewed Schecter S-1 Case) After going over every detail of the Gigbag, i have nothing but good things to say !! The Backpack straps are durable and comfortable plus there curved inwards, so that when you carry it by the side handle(Which has a rounded rubberized grip,NICE!!) they dont drag and droop in the way. its got rubberized double zippers and Pockets galore, which are padded offering more protection for your guitar. Also it has a Rubberized diamond patch on the bottom to prevent wear and keep it in place. The inside has like an inch of padding plus reinforced bridge and headstock to prevent tearing thru. It fits my guitar nicely with room to spare , i bet you could put a Flying V in it because its as wide as a Bass Gigbag and thats what my friend uses for his V. This Gigbag is a must have!!,its Solid, comfortable and probably fits almost any guitar. GET 1 BEFORE THEY SELLOUT, BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED SADLY!!
My Guitar is a Custom Archtop similar to a Gibson ES355 and I was having difficulty finding a hardcase that would fit it that did not have a Guitar Brand Logo imprinted on it or that did not cost an arm and a leg. Failing that I decided to search out a good quality Gig Bag and even that was hard to find, mostly because most Gig Bags are either oversized for a Hollowbody or too cheaply made to even consider. I finally went online to Musicians Friend whom I had purchased from before (with good results I might add) and that is where I came accross the Kaces Structures Bag, Not knowing whether it would fit or not I fired off an email to MF and they responded that it would fit fine. Not taking them at their word I then contacted the Kaces Company directly and asked the same question giving them the dimensions of my Guitar. They replied that that particular bag I was looking at would not fit my guitar and promptly steared me onto one of their most expensive ones. I was in a dilemna. do I take MF's word or follow Kaces suggestion. Thankfully I chose Musicians Friend as I received the Bag today and it is a real beauty (I chose the Gunmetal color). It fits my Guitar like a glove, is heavy duty, very well made and has lots of storage compartments even for the backpack straps which are concealed until you need them a real plus. I would recommend this Bag to anyone who has a Hollowbody Archtop they need to protect at a reasonable price and I would also highly recommend Musicians Friend if your looking for any type of Gear they are the best
I took a risk on this gig bag because I don't usually buy items with no reviews. But I figured it looked good and I could always send it back if I didn't like it. Well, I got the eclipse version and flew out for college 2 days after. It has a much smaller depth than my hardcase, which meant the airline was more likely to let me take my guitar onboard. It has great padding, although I added some of my own foam to pad the bottom strap pin. The case is really big. I think it might be better suited for a hollowbody or maybe a larger solidbody than a strat, but I just wrapped a little strip of foam around the neck and the guitar doesn't move at all. The storage pockets are awesome. I can fit my computer, cords, tuner, picks, and metronome, and I still have space to spare. The backpack straps work well, but sitting comfortably, the headstock raises about 6" above my head. Being 6'4'', that doesn't work for me, but I like em anyway. I put 4.0 for the quality because a few threads started coming out but I don't think it's really bad, maybe it was something in the overhead compartment. Overall, great gig bag, I'm glad I bought it.
