Korg

Your new ace in the pocket with a wide range of pitch detection.

With a size similar to an audiocassette case, the KORG CA-1 chromatic tuner tuner supports a broad range of C1 (32.70 Hz)-C8 (4186.01 Hz), allowing speedy and high-precision tuning of wind, string, keyboard, and other instruments. This orchestral tuner is ideal for tuning even low-register notes containing numerous overtones that are often difficult to tune. A high-sensitivity mic is built-in, allowing easy and accurate tuning of acoustic instruments such as ukuleles. A separately sold CM-100 contact mic can also be used to send the vibrations directly to the tuner for even more accurate tuning.

Ultra-compact body with a "Tilt Slit"
Although the CA-1 Chromatic Tuner is small, thin, and light, don’t let its pocket-sized body fool you. The CA-1 chromatic tuner packs the functionality needed for tuning a wide range of instruments. From studio to stage, tuning is easy and convenient. The back of the unit includes a unique arc-shaped "tilt slit" that lets you insert a plastic card for use as a handy stand.

High-precision LCD Meter
The meter section uses a LCD needle, combining the accuracy of an LCD with the easy visibility of a needle, and providing a stable display. Additional visual feedback is provided by LEDs that indicate pitch deviation.

Sound Out
In addition to visual tuning via meter, the CA-1 band and orchestra tuner can play reference pitches from its internal speaker (Sound Out) for tuning by ear. Each press of the Sound switch will cycle through the A4-Bb4 notes commonly used for tuning wind instruments. Or you can hold down the Sound switch to change the cycle to the semitone intervals from C4 through C5 (one octave), allowing reference pitches for any instrument to be sounded quickly.

Adjustable Calibration
The Calibration function (410-480 Hz) supports a wide range of standard pitches, and can be adjusted in 1 Hz steps for accurate and flexible tuning to any song or key. Thanks to the Memory Backup function, the Calibration and reference pitch are remembered even when the power is turned off.

(However, these settings will be initialized when the batteries are replaced.)

Auto Power Off Function
The power will turn off automatically, if the unit is left powered-on for 20 minutes without performing any operation, avoiding unnecessary battery consumption.

Approximately 100 hours of Continuous Use
Low-power consumption design allows an amazing 100 hours (approximate) of continuous battery life (A4 continuous input, meter mode, zinc-carbon batteries).

* Even if the pitch is within the detection range, detection may not be possible for instrumental sounds that contain a large number of overtones or have a rapid decay.

A Handy Little Instrument

Features:

Just last week, I restrung a 6-string acoustic for a friend and eventually got to that point where you have to tune up the axe.  You can go from memory on the low E, but you know you're not exactly on the money.  The Korg CA-1 Chromatic Tuner solves this problem.  Unless you have keen eyesight, the slim needle on the device is a little hard to read, but no matter, the middle green light gives you all the information you need to know.  When it lights up you're in tune!  The sound (playback) mode is also helpful.  I first adjust my A string to the right pitch and work my way around from there.  This is a great little product and you'll be in tune whenever and wherever you want to be.

Quality:

Korg puts out good stuff.

Value:

For the price, you won't find anything else out there that gets the job done with accuracy.

Overall:

I'm truly satisfied with the CA-1.  It's simple to use, fits in your shirt pocket, and takes any doubt out of your mind as to whether or not your axe is in tune.  Buy it.  You'll like it.

I bought my first ukulele and needed a simple chromatic tuner. So many have unnecessary features and are way too expensive. This is exactly what I needed at a great price.

A great tuner for anyone, anywhere or anything

Features:

This tuner is perfect for everything. There is nothing it can't handle. Its simple to use and it works well. There are a plethora of tuners that just have too many features and there is no reason for that. The CA-1 Chromatic Korg tuner is perfect with just 4 buttons and 3 easy to read lights above the screen that visually guides you as you tune. It is also super portable. There are a myriad of tuners out there that you make think are better, but when you look at a tuner for what it is, there is no reason for al of those other tuners. The simpler the better, and the CA-1 Chromatic Korg achieve that perfectly.

Quality:

The quality of this tuner is great. Not only does it accurately tune your instrument but it was built for durability. I cannot tell you how many times I have dropped it or hit it, and still not a scratch. It looks brand new! While I am running around, I can't have multiple tuners as backups so I need something that will get the job done.

Value:

The value of this tuner is fantastic! Its is an affordable tuner that has exceeded my expectations. I can spend twice as much money on any other tuner, but this Korg will reign supreme.

Overall:

Overall, this tuner is the best. Its simplicity, portablity, and accuracy make it perfect for anybody with any type of job to do.

This is a great little tuner, as the title says. These are all we use for my high school music groups (wind symphony, full orchestra, symphonic band, marching band, etc). They're easy to use, small, and REALLY durable (figure a bunch of high school kids handling these). Get one now!

Well, it's a tuner. So, it does it's job: It tunes. It's a bit difficult to understand at first, but once you get used to it, it's all good. I reason I give it a 4 in quality is because if you're trying to tune to a flat or sharp, it's difficult to tell when you're at the right note. But for "on the dot" tuning, it's great. I'm so glad I could get this.
