I've owned the same GT-3 tuner for over 15 years. It's been dropped, kicked, dowsed in beer, cola, water and what have you. 've used it with and without plug in, acustic and amplified, with guitar and bass. Couldn't think of owning anything other - and I have.Upside: Auto Ranging for experienced users. Long Battery life. Works with Bass and Guitar! Works well pre/post amplification - Great for soundperson/techs. Has Off & On switch, In & Out port. Ruggid for it's size. Has a 9 vdc adapter port. Clear & Easy to Read 440 tuning LEDs.Downside: Auto ranging for beginners is confussing if they don't have patience or experience. The GT-3 Guitar tuner takes a lickin' and keeps on performing for years and years.

I bought this tuner expecting it to work about as well as the price would indicate. But, i was dissapointed when it would never tell me the same thing twice, whitch made it pretty well useless. I never know if its right, as it will change its reading constantly. The battery attachement got stuck to a 9 volt, and i dont think ill be able to get it off, so once that battery dies the thing will never be able to be used again. I'd stick with a chromatic tuner, they seem to work better.

my favorite tuner

I've had the Korg GT-3 for almost 4 years and it is still going strong. The battery lasts a long time and the display is very easy to read, even in the dark. If I was to misplace my little Korg, I would definitely buy another.

PLEASE BUY A BETTER TUNER!

This tuner may be cheap, but you get what you pay for. This tuner makes so many mistakes and can not choose a note. It switches all the time and when you are not plugged in this picks up SOOOO much backround noise. Spring for a better tuner!!

Old Faithful...

I've had the GT-3 for about 8 years now and I can't remember EVER having changed the battery. I'm sure I've changed it at some point but it was obviously quite a while ago (in other words, this tuner has great battery life). It's easy to use, very easy to read in all lighting conditions, and the microphone is as good as can be expected (i.e., if it's not relatively quiet, you better be plugging in). It is seemingly indestructible, considering what I've put it through, and it just keeps on going.

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking...

Love it. No need to buy another. Flats are easy enough to tune. Also good for other types of tuning (drop D and whole step) once you get used to it. It does what I need it to, and I didn't pay much $ for it. Nice LED display.

So So tuner

By Anonymous

If there is one thing I look for in a tuner is the stability of the sensor once it picks up the correct note. Im never sure with this tuner. First it tells me its correct, then its not, then it is... ahhh! Ive been playing for 12 years and very often my ears tune my guitar better than this gadget... too labile, consider another product.

My ear is bad, the tuner is slightly better

By Starfire Man

My ear is bad and this tuner is only slightly better than my ear. In all, I think I am getting a satisfactory tune but under the ciscumstances I can't really tell. Very jumpy LED and you see more red lights than green. I guess the biggest benefit is that if someone says your guitar is out of tune, you can pull the Korg out of your pocket and say "Quite Impossible".

Korg GT-3

Finicky compact tuner. Sometimes difficult to get a decent reading as LED's are a little erratic. With some effort, the guitar eventually tunes nicely. Not bad, but not great. I'd say average describes it well.

OK for a tuner

This tuner is ok compared to other tuners, maybe you could get something better. This is the first tuner I have ever bought, and in fact, the only one I have tried, besides my ear :p. It works for me, it tunes well, and it is super duper easy to use. I can recommend it if you have never tried one, but I'm not quite that sure if this is the best.
