The Korg PB-02 pitchblack+ is a high-end pro-quality chromatic pedal tuner boasting ultra-high tuning accuracy within a range of +/-0.1 cents. Housed in a sleek black aluminum die cast body, the Korg pitchblack+ packs a versatile range of tuning modes such as chromatic, standard (guitar/bass), open D, open E, open G, open A, and DADGAD. The Korg pitchblack+ also creates up to 5 custom tuning programs of your own with any temperament you specify. This is ideal for accommodating special tunings such as ethnic instruments and stretched tuning. The Korg pitchblack+ tpedal tuner also supports tuning for 7-string guitars and 6-string basses. In addition, you can also use the flat tuning mode to tune your instrument as many as seven semitones below standard pitch. With a broad tuning range of E0 (20.60 Hz) to C8 (4186 Hz) and calibration that's adjustable in a range of 436—445 Hz, you'll be able to tune with an unprecedented degree of accuracy. The Korg pitchblack+ offers a new level of high-precision tuning demanded by professional guitar and bass players for the recording studio or in live performance.
Large surface-illuminated LED display ensures easy tuning
The Korg pitchblack+ tuner features a large 13-segment LED meter. In conjunction with the tuning guides located below the meter that indicates whether your instrument is sharp or flat, the smooth-moving LED's provide highly visible confirmation for accurate tuning at any viewing angle. The note name, tuning mode, and calibration are shown by large, highly-readable displays in green and red, and the tuner on/off status is shown by a red LED, ensuring that you'll see everything you need even if you're on a dimly-lit stage. You can choose between two types of display modes: Single mode or Double mode. In Single mode, you can choose between Meter mode, Full Strobe mode, Half Strobe mode, or Mirror mode. In Double mode, you can choose from two newly developed modes; "Focus mode 1" and "Focus mode 2" which offer even greater precision with excellent visibility.
Dual input jacks allow two instruments to be connected. True Bypass ensures that the input signal is unaffected.
As a professional pedal tuner, the Korg pitchblack+ provides A and B input jacks to which you can connect 2 different guitars or basses, and individually specify a separate calibration, tuning mode, flat tuning, and display mode for each guitar/bass (input). If only a single instrument is connected to the pitchblack+ tuner, you can specify 2 different tuning settings and switch between them by pressing the "INPUT SELECT" foot switch. This supports situations such as when you're playing more than one guitar/bass in a live situation, or sophisticated musical needs such as using different tunings with a single guitar for multiple songs. The sound is muted when tuning is active, and when the Korg pitchblack+ tuner is off, the True Bypass feature ensures that the input signal from your instrument is not colored in any way whatsoever. With functionality such as this, the Korg pitchblack+ tuner can provide high-precision tuning capability while being integrated into your guitar or bass pedalboard and amp setup.
Fits into your pedalboard, and DC output powers other pedals
The Korg pitchblack+ tuner works great with your current pedalboard system. It provides a DC OUT jack that can supply power to other effect pedals when the optional AC adaptor is used. By connecting the included DC cable, you can supply up to 200 mA of power to multiple effect pedals that require a 9V supply, simplifying the power connections in your effect board.

The accuracy of the Pitchblack+ is phenomenal. Having two inputs on the tuner is a feature that I doubt Ill ever need, but I bought this model because the specs show that the regular Pitchblack does not have the high accuracy of the PB-Plus.
The ability to choose the display mode on the fly is great! Sometimes you need super accuracy, sometimes you don't need accuracy as much as speed. With this unit you can adjust the way the tuning is displayed to fit your present need.
The Pitchblack+ does not have a built-in microphone, which is a real downer for those of us who need to tune acoustic instruments without pickups.
The Pitchblack+ has a place to store custom tunings/temperaments, which is cool, but I wish it also had special tunings built in as do the Peterson StroboClip and some of Peterson's other tuners. The tuning results on my guitars when using that feature of the Petersons is amazing.
The output from the PB-Plus is muted when in tuning mode. I would like the option to hear the output if I want to.
The price of the PB+ when compared to the other high accuracy tuners on the market is good as long as it gives you all the features you need.

The dual selectable inputs are okay, the ability to program one or both channels for drop-tuning or any alt tuning is a feature. Const solid, lots of attractive tuning screen modes. The fuction buttons are labled and accessible so much so that when you lay it on the floor it is really easy to compress one and change your program. And when you're on stage, the lights are low and you pick it up to see what's wrong, you cant see anything and your up-the-creek. Why? Because it's pitch black! The buyer should consider the features--do I really need em(?)--against the drawbacks and the high cost. If tuning is your major consideration it works just as well as a fifteen or fifty dollar model.

There are 2 issues I have with it. When I have any other pedal in my chain switched on, I get a hum when I bypass the signal to tune. I use a 1spot for power, so it's not as good as other power sources, so that could be why. The 2nd minor issue is the power cable they supply to use the tuner to power other pedals. It has straight plugs vs. right-angle, which would be better for me. May not affect everyone, but I have to unplug the cable to fit my pedalboard in its case.
I haven't really used anything that this does, but it gives lots of options for the visual display, alternate tuning support, and more. I bought it for the built in A/B switch, which works great for me.
Seems solid enough and works fine for me.
Bought it on sale, which I thought was a great value, especially if you want the A/B switch or need that switch to do multiple tunings easily.

I've been dragging mine around to shows and practices for over a year now and could not be more pleased. The display is big and bright and easy to see. It displays sharps and flats well, if you're in an alt tuning. The A/B switch has really been a lifesaver for me, switching between P-bass and Baritone guitar. I am contemplating getting a second one for my guitar rig. When I travel without it or have to use my bandmate's Boss Chromatic tuner, I get cranky.

Do not. I repeat do not waste your hard earned dollars on this tuner. I too went through 2 of these units. 3 gig max. I switched to the Polytune. Dream come tru.

What an overpriced hunk of junk. Not a good road tuner. IT WILL BREAK. Ive had two of em. Great concept when they figure out how to build it like a tank.

Super accurate, very fast, great features, I find the dual input most useful since I gig w/2 guitars. Doesn't get any better than this, I've had 'em all over the last 35 years! The extra power jack allows easy integration into your rig. With a little care it should last a long time, solidly built. How about a rack version of this? Please?!

This is a great pedal tuner. It is very accurate. I've had the Boss pedal tuner(not as accurate!) and other rack tuners and this is my favorite. Very easy to read on a dark stage and looks cool in your pedal-board. Get this tuner, it's worth the extra cost!

Bought this tuner for stage and studio work. The first 3 days it worked great. Then it just stopped working. The red on/off light would flash then shut off. I returned without question and they (musicians friend)are sending me a new one. Very disappointing!! I will update when new one arrives. For now thumbs down!

I purchased this for setting the intonation on my guitars. I am very particular in my method of tuning , and usually fine tune by ear. This tuner is so accurate I don't need tune by ear!It has several choices of display modes that make it easy to read. So I got it to save money but it saves time also!
