I bought this on a SDOTD and was not disappointed. I was extremely impressed with the quality of this tuner. It has a solid build quality, is very accurate with fast response time in both polyphonic and single string tuning modes, and has an excellent display. The LED lights are bright, contemporary looking and "fun" to watch while tuning. You need to use your fingers to activate small rubber buttons to change modes for mute, etc, or turn it on/off since there are no foot controls (which is clear from the product description). I think that this tuner is fine for situations where you can have the tuner at "arms reach" to change its settings. Alternatively, for a pedal board application I think that you would want to keep the tuner on at all times, so you could quickly identify which string(s) are out of tune by a single strum of the open strings and glancing at the polyphonic display. But in this situation, unless you bend over to press the mute button (by hand) you will hear the guitar while playing the open strings to see which ones are out, and while tuning errant ones. I think that limitation is manageable by controlling your on-stage volume while tuning. But if you do want to mute your output while tuning, it's a significant trade off since the time required to bend down and mute/un-mute the tuner output cuts into the benefits of having the fast tuning diagnostics with the polyphonic display.

This tuner is probably worth what I paid for it .( i don't like to think i got beat ) it seems to be sturdy enough . looks alright .easy to use . but I'm not all that thrilled with the LED indicator lights? on some tuning's it doesn't light up the whole spectrum of LED light indicators . its almost like some are not working correctly are burnt out . .it still tunes accurate you just got to know what string your tuning . G looks like a C . I know you don't tune in C but when tuning G it looks like a C because of the indicator lights that don't light up the whole pattern of the note are chord . you get my point .

Comments about Korg Pitchblack Portable Polyphonic Tuner:

I now have three of these units. Hit al the strings and it displays tuning status of all the strings. Play one note and it focuses in on the one string. I like to leave mine in the Full Strobe Mode ( Fine Tuning). In the this mode the unit is ten times more accurate when you hit one note (+/- .1 Cent). The unit is easy to read from a short distance. My units are all Red. One is attached to my pedal board. The only drawback I have found is the unit must be turned on and off manually. If it is powered by the pedal board power the unit does not come on when the pedal board power is turned on. If you turn off the pedal board power the unit reverts to battery power and keeps operating until the batteries go dead.

Nice tuner, display is large and easy to see
I like that it shows me which strings are out of tune with a strum and then automatically switches over to individual string tuning like a standard turner.
Very easy to use and stable, doesn't bounce around when the signal from the string fades.
multi level display intensity as you get closer to correct tune the display intensity of the center block increases making it faster to get in tune than other tuners I have.
Definitely a technological step up from other tuners I have used
