I stumbled across this pickup while looking for a possible solution to amplify my classical for smaller gigs. Being a complete DIY finatic, i know full well the possible horrors that come with installing pickups, as well as the heavy cost when those modifications go south.

that being said, this pickup was easy to install, if you can change a string you will most likely succeed. Its as simple as loosening the strings and gently sliding it over the top of the bridge, then bringing the strings back up to tension.

the pickup came with a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch cable, the 1/8 inch jack being on the pickup obviously. Probably the most useful thing is being able to unplug the cable from the pickup and leave it in place. If youve ever owned the seymour duncan "Woody" you will really appreciate having this option. As far as duribility goes, i plan to leave the pickup in place, it looks just fine. after all if i dropped a fishman into my guitar i wouldnt be unscrewing it every time i unplug it :)

The sound is very natural and warm, and with a few knob turns on my amp you can dial in some pretty sweet sounds that bring out the characteristics unique to your guitar. you may want to invest in a noise suppressor to control feedback in live applications. Its very responsive and will pick up whatever vibrates it. Its a PIEZO!!!

I think i found a great, low cost solution to mic my guitar without going overboard.

This pickup has to be the most cheaply constructed, worst looking, most poorly functioning, rip off of an LR baggs that has ever been created. It installed perfectly...only to snap in half while gently removing the even cheaper 1/8 inch cable. Dont waste your money, if you're a serious musician, do yourself a favor and buy a REAL piezo system for your guitar. Not some cheap Bulgarian doorbell, sandwiched in between two pieces of drift wood. For the price, anything is a better solution for amplifying your classical guitar

Comments about Kremona NG-1 Passive Piezo Pickup for Nylon String Guitar:

Don't jam the pick-up all the way up. The part of the shaft away from the plug vibrates the most. Keep that part of the pick-up under the strings. Also, don't assume that the pick-up doesn't sound good if the strings in your guitar are old.

Comments about Kremona NG-1 Passive Piezo Pickup for Nylon String Guitar:

Very good sound reproduction, easily installed. Some reviews complained that the included cord is thin, however a regular sized guitar cord would be too heavy for the connector. I have also tried using a balanced / stereo connector with excellent results.

Comments about Kremona NG-1 Passive Piezo Pickup for Nylon String Guitar:

I bought one of these Kremona NG-1 pickups for my Kremona Fiesta FC nylon-string classical guitar and quickly installed it just after the holidays. Many reviews criticize the durability of these pickups and I can not yet comment on that. It does, indeed, look as if it won't withstand much rough handling but that's not a problem for me. I take care of the things I spend my money on. In this case, I carefully connect and disconnect the cable with both hands and the guitar in a stationary position.

I have found that the cable which runs across my guitar's sound board when connected has a tendency to audibly hit the sound board while I'm playing, so I added a modification which has largely solved this issue. I simply double-wrapped the first 7or 8 inches of the cable end that connects to the pickup with soft knitting yarn which dampens the impact significantly.

As for the sound: I'm quite impressed by the strength of the signal transmitted to my Yamaha THR-5A practice amp, given that the NG-1 is a passive pickup. My amp has all the controls I need to shape my sound, so the NG-1's lack of volume and other controls is unimportant to me.

For those who are reluctant to drill and cut holes in a prized guitar, this may be the solution you've been looking for to amplify your sound without the risk and expense of an invasive pickup installation.

Comments about Kremona NG-1 Passive Piezo Pickup for Nylon String Guitar:

Very practical installation idea, and price is quite reasonable. Craftsmanship is not very robust and reliable though, so you have to be really careful with it. Probably not a good idea for gigs in uncontrolled environments. In addition, tone is not perfect. But I suppose if someone wants to get a perfect tone they will probably use a microphone instead.

It gave new life to my old Sears Silvertone classical. Enhanced the treble strings so they were noted muted by the wonderful bases. Super simple installation. I expect to have many happy hours with it.

Comments about Kremona NG-1 Passive Piezo Pickup for Nylon String Guitar:

Clear sound. Easy to use. Fits easily under the strings on the saddle. No need to remove the pickup after practice of performance. (waste of time) As it sits very well under the strings.

Pickup is the same consistency of a popsical stick. I accidentally snapped mine (not in half but like a toothpick). I put it back together and viola. It worked like a charm.

It is very sensitive. I play a Cordoba 40R out of a Crate 30w amp. I keep my amp on 2, the low, mid, and treble at 3.5 The reverb to zero for a clean concert tone with volume to spare. I'm very happy

The idea is great... But the one that I got did not work... Either there was no sound, or a big hum.. the cable connection to the transducer is neither 1/4 or 1/8 inch... Is apparently of European jack measurement... Maybe the cable was bad... But as the jack connection did not fit US specs... I decided to return it...
