Comments about Kurzweil CC-1 Continuous Control Pedal:

This pedal allows the organ sounds to be very similar to that of the Hammond b-3, of which I own.

Comments about Kurzweil CC-1 Continuous Control Pedal:

I've been using this pedal for a few weeks since switching to a Kurzweil keyboard. Yes, it's plastic, but it's good plastic. It doesn't have a cheap feel about it, and it makes it a lot lighter to cart around than the metal sustain pedal that I also use. There are other options out there, but they can get ridiculously pricey. For what it costs, I'll use until it falls apart and replace it. For the programs that use it, it seems to have the exact same range as the mod wheel. In programs that don't use it, it makes a good volume pedal. I'm satisfied with it.

Lightweight pedal for a heavyweight board

Comments about Kurzweil CC-1 Continuous Control Pedal:

I have owned one of these for about 4 years, using it as a volume pedal for a rack mount synths that I play through a Kurzweil Stage Piano used as a MIDI controller. Kurzweils are not compatible with most other pedals, so if you want an expression pedal for a Kruzweil keyboard, this is one of the few choices available. The pedal is inexpensive, and looks it. While Yamaha, Roland and Korg have metal or aluminum bodies, this one is plastic. The gear teeth are plastic. The base is plastic. Not what I expected from Kurzweil, but for the price, this is not surprising. After 4 years of regular use, I am noticing some flat spots or dead spots through the travel of pedal. So, I will have to replace it soon. As a controller, it works well. The is an appropriate range from "off" to "full on". You can set a level and take your foot of the pedal and it stays put. It can be used effectively to bring in strings or organ accents to blend sounds. It is quiet in it operation, without any of the pot noise that you might expect from an inexpensive piece. Not a bad pedal for the price Just be prepared to buy another one every few years.
