Legendary tone and high-quality components in a simple package.
This 30th Anniversary Alumitone Loaded Pickguard features three of Lace's revolutionary Alumitone single coils. In a majestic gold color, this pickguard provides stunning looks for your guitar with incredible tone and zero noise. All 30th anniversary pickguards were signed on the back by the Lace brothers.
Prewired with quality components (CTS 250K full-size pots, USA-made switch, NTS Capacitors), it includes matching knobs and selector switch cap. Installation is easy, as this 11-hole pickguard connects with only two wires.
Lace Alumitone Single-Coil Electric Guitar Pickups offer you a radical new design that delivers high output and less resistance. You get clear, big frequency response in a completely noise-free passive pickup. Constructed with aluminum rather than copper, Lace Alumitone Pickups have a current-driven design as opposed to conventional pickups, which are voltage-based.
The aluminum water-jet-cut exoskeleton is mated with a micro-winding using 90% less copper wire than traditional designs for an extremely lightweight and efficient pickup. Sonically, this gives these guitar pickups more volume, more bass, and more mids with a nice, clear, smooth high-frequency response that cuts.

$272.00 and not one instruction packed nicely looks great. Seems like it should have at least came with a cable hookup.
When I first read about these pickups, I was cautious, but somewhat interested. The more I read about them, the more intrigued I became, but still was concerned about the "modern" and "out of the box" look. I finially threw caution to the wind....it was the best musical decision I have made in some time. Once I got them installed in my 2002 Strat, and plugged it into my 66 Deluxe Reverb Amp, I was sound struck. The tone was Strat familiar, but also fresh. Initially, I could not put my finger on it, but I notice the bottom end was much tighter than my old tone, the mids were much smoother and I still had the bell like chime in the top end. The weird thing is, the more I played my guitar...especially in live situations, the more sonic nuances I heard. My bandmates said they heard a huge difference the first time I brought my Strat to the gig. The other thing is the "WOW' factor. There are always other guitar players at my gigs, and I can't tell you how many have commented on my new tone, and asked about the pickups. The guys at Lace are really on to something.
The pickups look amazing. Way cooler when you see them in person.
They are a new design in the pickup world. For the tone, the price is a bargain.
