As a Bassist of a variety of Basses (mostly 5-strings, but 4 & 6s as well) weighing a decent amount, as well as being a Bassist with a Disability as well as Severe Back Weakness I've mostly stuck to various Neoprene-based Straps for their padding and "shock absorbing" qualities. However, as I just received an Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass in Limited Edition Silverburst (1 of 500) I felt a more traditional Leather Strap was called for, as well as a longer strap than my typical Neoprene Straps because of the placement of the strap button on the Neck Heel as opposed to the Top Horn.
Measuring how long a strap I'd need for both fingerstyle as well as pickstyle to be comfortable, I went with Levy's PM32 3-Inch Padded Leather Strap and am quite happy with it. Made of 3-inch wide quality leather with padding material sewn inside for a Very Reasonable Price, I might pick a few more up and replace some of my older, slightly decaying Neoprene Straps - I'm also the type of guy that has a strap for every Bass and not 1 Strap To Rule Them All, as I like to "set them up" individually in length for the different body style/ergonomics, playing & musical style such as Fingerstyle or Pickstyle, slapping, etc. Also, other reviews that bring up "long" or "short" issues might want to check what they purchased again: there's an XL Version of this strap that would make it far too long for a "waist-height" Bass, but the Regular Model has plenty of room for your reasonable Bassist or Guitarist.
A well-made, good quality Leather Strap for an extremely reasonable price... a steal, even!

I read all of the mixed reviews. Negative reviews said the strap is too short. Positive reviews said the negative reviewers must want the guitar at their knees. Despite the negative reviews, this was the only 3 inch strap, and I wear my guitar around the belt-buckle area, so I purchased the item.
The strap is too short (even at the longest adjustment). Unless you are 5'0 tall or like being choked by your guitar, do not buy it. There are some positive things to say about this item, but they do not matter, because the strap is unusable.
Another thing to be aware of. I have two strap-lock systems. The strap is made of 2 leather sides with a cushioned material between. It is way too thick to push the pins through.

Comments about Levy's 3" Padded Leather Guitar Strap:
saw some reviews that say the strap is too short but i think what they meant is that the length of the strap with padding is short relative to the entire length of the strap. only about 60% of the strap is padded and the rest is just plain leather, so if you strap low the padded area may not even touch your shoulder. i don't hang my guitar too low so its fine for me.

strap is very comfortable, looks great and is long enough for my needs-a bit pricey but I would probably buy one again
Comments about Levy's 3" Padded Leather Guitar Strap:
Comfortable, easily adjusted for your needs, keeps a firm grasp on the strap pegs o nthe guitar
Exactly what it says it is
Too early to tell, we will see!
A little pricey, but it is padded & leather
Comments about Levy's 3" Padded Leather Guitar Strap:
I would consider this strap the middleground between a solid leather construction strap, to a neoprene constructed strap. This strap is totally awesome. Now if this strap somehow was able to use neoprene for the padding that'd be awesome.
It adjusts. Does not leave a lump, IF you assemble it correctly.
It's wide enough, and padded enough.
The quality is damn near perfect. The stitching is perfectly aligned. Only a few stray threads. The strap is symetrical, no complaints.
The construction is not solid leather, but uses a very rigid synthetic material between two plys of leather.
If all straps were $40. I'd say a 10. Otherwise 9, considering $5 really isn't that much of a difference.
Comments about Levy's 3" Padded Leather Guitar Strap:
I gave the strap away because I could not return it.
Like others here I felt this strap is short. The length is 53 inches that puts the strap just about where my previous strap sits ... The problem is to get to that length I am at the bottom most whole...this puts the fold over section of the strap in a spot on my back that became VERY uncomfortable. So I ended up with a lighter Les Paul on my shoulder with an anoying lump in my back.
A frustrating thing from an expensive strap. I will give it to my son to use and get a different strap...Don't know if I will go with a Levys or not.
Gave it a 5 because eveneventhough it is made out of quality components the design is lacking.
Gave it a value rating of 5 because how much value can there be in a strap that I'm giving away.
Comments about Levy's 3" Padded Leather Guitar Strap:
This strap is very comfortable and nice looking.I don't understand how people think it is too short though as I am 6' 3" 205 lbs and it is laced through the 4th and 5th loops from the end on my Carvin DC127 and is about perfect for me. A guitar does not need to be down to your waist or lower as that hinders your ability to play correctly.
Comments about Levy's 3" Padded Leather Guitar Strap:
I received this strap as a gift and was very impressed with the quality of the workmanship and the leather. It is without a doubt a very comfortable strap and holds it's position well without binding/grabbing your clothing like some straps will. The only downside to this strap is the length. I'm 6'2" and fully extended, this strap is well short ( right at the rib cage) of my preferred guitar position (mid-waist level). For the price on MF you can't beat this strap! Just know that it is rather short.
