I use this strap on my PRS, which is the heaviest guitar I own. The 3" width makes a nice difference, effectively reducing the weight of the guitar. It is VERY comfortable. I prefer its plain no-nonsense style, as opposed to all those gaudy ones out there.I had to unscrew the pegs from the guitar, in order to install the strap. I'm not complaining - at least I know this strap isn't going to budge! Of course this means I have to put the guitar in its case with the strap still on, which is a little awkward, since the strap is so hefty, but not a big deal.I am 6'-4", and I wish this strap was just a couple inches longer. It's the same length as most other straps, so I can't criticize this particular one. My guitar ends up just a little higher than I would like. Just keep that in mind if you're tall like me.Overall, it's excellent. I can play for hours, in perfect comfort, and the weight of the guitar doesn't ever cross my mind. That means the strap is doing its job! I highly recommend it!

Let me say that overall, I like the strap and it fits me fine. I like the walnut color and it looks good with my Les Paul. The strap is comfortable and much better than those Nylon straps – especially with the weight of a Les Paul. Below are some of the things to consider before buying this strap.

I thought that the strap would be longer than it is. I'm 5' 8" and got the strap on the 2nd to the end loop. I would hate to be 6 feet or taller as the strap would probably be too short. Also, if I ever hung my guitar like Jimmy Page (which I don't foresee that I would ever do as it is too hard to play that way) it would never be long enough.

I use strap locks and it was harder than hell to get my strap locks to fit onto the leather. The leather is thick and it was very difficult to get the washer over the threads and then put the nut on to lock down the strap lock. I finally got it to work but it was very, very hard to do. I ended up only putting one strap lock on because it was so difficult. Plus, the tail strap pin probably doesn't need a strap lock as this leather holds very well. I did put a strap lock on the bridge strap pin because I didn't want the leather to rub against the finish of my Les Paul given the weird angle that the strap pins are mounted at on the Les Paul.

Whatever you throw at it.

By Jake the Bassist

from Northern California

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

This is hands-down the most comfortable strap I have ever owned. I'm a bass player, and this thing holds even my heavy six-string bass with no strain on my shoulder. I used cloth straps, nylon straps (padded and unpadded), and unpadded leather straps, and they all started cutting into my shoulder after about a half hour of playing my six-string, but this strap holds up comfortably all night long.Although I'd be happier if it cost less, it's comfy, it's stylish, and it'll take whatever you can throw at it. I would highly recommend this strap to any bassist or guitarist.

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

At the end of the day, you will be happy to know this guitar strap will be there the next time you put your guitar back on your shoulder. I can not say more about the quality other than my first strap of this model is about 5 years old & still holds my Les Paul like the day I put the strap on it... actually, the leather broke in fantastic!

WHEN YOU NEED TO HOLD A LES PAUL ON YOUR SHOULDER FOR A 3 TO 4 HOUR GIG, THIS IS THE STRAP TO USE. OK... MY SHOULDER & NECK STILL BOTHER ME AT THE END OF THE NIGHT BUT, THAT'S JUST MY AGE SHOWING!!! I DO NOT USE STRAP LOCKS & THE BUTTON HOLES NEVER WEAR OUT OR STRETCH --> MY GIBSON LP STANDARD WEIGHS IN AT ALMOST 11 LBS. NEVER FAILS ME...........
Spend the money because the quality is there... you will go through more cheap straps in the long run.
I have seen & tried straps costing a lot more... Levys is the only strap I have used for the past 15 years. This particular model is my choice of choices!!!

Worth a Little more

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

This strap is great for those guitars that have a little extra weight like Les Pauls, 335's, some Fenders. The little bit of 'padding', with the better leather, really cushions the impact and it won't stick to your shoulder!Remember, you GET what you PAY for.

You'll never need, or want another strap

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

I own two of these straps, and I can't say enough about the comfort and the quality. The strap button holes DO NOT stretch out. I have quite a few guitars, and I've had both straps on and off all guitars numerous times without any trouble at all. The only trouble is getting the strap on and off when it's new because the holes are a little tight, ad the leather is thick. But that's what you want in a good strap. Believe me, you'll have it for life.

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

I have purchased a couple of these. They are superb for the price tag. I may get another one for my acoustic-electric but for now I've used them to carry strats and a semi-hollow. They work great in combination with Dunlop strap locks but also very good by themselves. I just prefer to use the strap locks all the time. They have a soft yet sturdy feel to them and wide enough to make heavy guitars feel lighter.Just get it and you won't be dissapointed.

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

You can buy a $10-$15 strap every couple of years or you can buy a quality strap like this that will last as long as you will. Forget about neck burn as well. I've had this strap for years and I've never used a more comfortable one.

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

I bought this Levy?s Boot Leather Guitar Strap a few months ago, so I have been using it for a while now. I have been playing guitar since the late 60?s and this is the BEST strap I have ever owned in my life. It is very comfortable for long periods of time. The only problem I have is I?m 6?-3? tall and I weigh 260 lbs, so it could have been just a little longer, but it is barely long enough at the 53? setting. If you are a skinny person at 6?-0 tall or less then it is made for you. BUY IT, you won?t regret it! Even though it isn?t as long as I would like I use it all the time now and am very happy with it.But the next time I?m buying the ?Levy's Leather Guitar Strap with Tri Glide Adjust?, which adjusts to 65?. So it is made for big people.

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

In 1997 I bought my first Levys strap- a wide natural leather for my acoustic. STILL using it and it has "broken in" like a favorite leather belt or jacket. In 1998 I bought two soft suede style straps two of my electrics. I mounted Schaller strap lock on them and they are still serving me well today. I just received the boot leather strap and judging by the quality and build, I firmly believe this one will be serving me 20 years from now, also!

Two things- these straps are described as being 53" length maximum. They are, indeed, that long. When people state the strap is 'almost' too short, or is too short, at their height...say 5'8", the things we don't know are: what the rest of the person's build is like; how they like to wear their guitars; what kind of guitars they are using. All of this makes a difference! SO- I use my Levys straps, rated at 53" max. length for a 2000 US Gibson LP; a 2017 Gibson SG Standard T; a 2013 Fender American Std. Strat. I am 5'10" and weight 220 lbs. I have broad shoulders and have a chest size of 48" This puts each of these guitars, on me, over my right hip (I'm right handed), the top of the lower bough about 1.5" below my right rib cage. For me, this is a perfect position. The Fender rides a little lower, the SG very slightly higher than specified. So folks, consider YOUR body dimensions and your guitars, your positioning preference, before buying. Levys does sell longer straps. Measure a strap you might own which fits you well, or cut a string to 53" length and determine about where things will "hang"...LOL.

NOTE: THESE BOOTLEATHER STRAPS ARE 3" wide, not 2.5"

Levys quality, for a non-custom strap, can't be beat. They are made to LAST, are comfortable and great looking. ALL my guitars wear Levys...and will continue to do so as long as their quality and attention to detail remains. AND...they are made in CANADA, North America- of excellent materials. 'Nuf said!

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

this is a great strap. The padding is VERY comfortable, and it is very easy on the shoulder with my les paul. The leather is great quality. Its very soft, and it smells like an old baseball glove! Only complaint that i would have is that it could be a little longer. Im a big fella, and i like to hold my guitars low, and with the length maxed out, its not quite long enough, but i can deal with it. Could be cheaper, but your paying for the quality. Great strap and a good choice.

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

I bough this strap because I was tired of using those nylon cheap straps. This guitar strap is a well made, quality guitar strap! Made of comfortable boot leather. It's really, really comfortable and keeps my shoulder and back in good shape while holding up my Les Paul. I bought this mainly for my Les Paul but use it with other guitars as well. I plan on buying more for all my guitars. It feels great on my Telecaster. They may cost a lot but they are so well worth their price. I only plan on using Levy straps from here on out. Plus they make you look good on stage! Way better than any nylon strap. These will last for a long time. Guaranteed.-V

This strap is strong, durable, and best of all, leather. I knew leather straps were strong but Levy's quality really adds the touch. You can dance, jump, and move around with no worries. I gave it 5'a all across. Best Strap Ever!

          from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

After 42 years of trial and error, these are simply the BEST! The firmness of the outer leather, combined with the soft leather backing is a match made in heaven! The simple beauty and elegance of these straps is only surpassed by the quality of the materials and workmanship. I would suggest attaching some type of strap lock to them, because the leather ends are so nice and firm, attaching and re-attaching to regular strap holders may prove to be a chore ... but your axe will be secure! Not only do I think these straps will last about forever, but my shoulder and back no longer get sore while standing up with a Les Paul for 2 or 3 hours.

Comments about Levy's Boot Leather Guitar Strap:

For me, this is the best strap I have ever owned. Quality made and nicely padded. One of my guitars is a Les Paul and this is the only strap I have ever had that would make holding that heavy thing comfortable, even for hours! It may seem a little pricey but any Les Paul owners would gladly pay that amount for a strap that gives this kind of relief. Using this strap on my strat, and you do not even feel the weight of the guitar at all!I have one problem with this strap even thought it did not present a problem for me. I am not but 5'9" and I do not wear my axe extremely low. The adjustment in the next to the last notch put it just right for me. However, many do sling their guitar very low and this could be a problem as the adjustment may not allow you to do this. Especially if it is being worn by a tall person. That is the reason I gave this strap only 3.5 on features. If you want to sling low, and/or you are tall, you may want to find one of these in a local store first and find out if it will adjust to your liking. Bottom line, if it works (adjust) for you, you will be well pleased with this strap. If you are lugging a Les Paul, this is a must have strap.
