It's a strap, so there's not a whole lot that can go wrong with it. I found it very comfortable and the distressing is only cosmetic. It looks good and not too over-the-top distressed. The actual strap is solid. The material is very flexible and easy to the touch. My only real concern is that the buckle to adjust the length can be a little stiff. This is good if you only keep it in one position, but occasionally, I'd like to be able to make a quick adjustment for various reasons. My dimarzio locking straps are a good example because they adjust with one hand by sliding the buckle up and down. This one is a little tighter. Again, this is probably a plus for most people and that's why I didn't list it as a con.

Be aware that if you want to use straplocks like the Schaller's, you will have to trim some of the leather around the opening of the strap to make it fit. The leather is double ply at the holes also, so you need to cut one of the layers up some. This is not an issue against the manufacturing. They built it tough! This strap is a little bit more pricey than others, but how often do you need to buy straps? It's a good investment I'd definitely buy one again.

No Distress to the actual webbing material, the New Brown color is painted on the white cotton webbing. Brown painted color on it is tacky as in sticky to touch, that should wear out after a washing. The sewed ends of the Brown Straps are distressed black leather and are distressed quite well, but the strap webbing itself is pristine!? It will function just fine, but it fails on being distressed on the webbing and the colors frackin painted on, which is the cheapest way to make a brown strap I suppose.
No defects in stitching or craftsmanship to be found, haphazardly painted to give distressed look? You can tell that the leather was distressed before it was sewn, so dont worry about the stiching falling apart on the leather ends. Will the materials last forever, yes they will its cotton webbing, it could support a riding lawnmower hanging from a tree. Was it made well? It is sewn well, I dont see frays or re-stitches. Painted white webbing is just wrong when theres brown webbing out there, my personal thoughts are the cheap route was taken on painting it and selling it as a brown webbing guitar strap.
For what I recieved, a cotton webbing strap with painted on color, I'll have to distress it myself and dye it 100% brown.

Comments about Levy's Military Webbing 2" Guitar Strap:

I've had one of these in black for quite a few years and I still love it. I've used a ton of different straps and every time I get a new axe it's the strap that goes on.

It's durable, comfortable and good looking. I love 'em.

Honestly my only gripe and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars (probably just because I'm pouting honestly) is because I want to buy more for the rest of my guitars and they don't have them in black anymore. Really I'm just tired of swapping straps every time I play another guitar and I don't want to give this one up because I love it that much. Lol

Comments about Levy's Military Webbing 2" Guitar Strap:

This is a sturdy feeling strap with a soft cotton feel to it. It is roughed up and has a tendency to hold the guitar in position. Also, the roughed up texture is not to much and adds character
I don't see it falling apart on me before the strap-locks I bought for it rust off.

                Didn't I already buy this at Wal-Mart?

Comments about Levy's Military Webbing 2" Guitar Strap:

Okay, for years I have owned a First Act guitar strap that I bought when Wal-Mart had musical equipment. It is the same material that this strap is made of, same length, mine had a cooler graphic and it was less than half the price. I don't get it! Anyways, since this is the EXACT SAME THING, I can say that this strap should not be put on a guitar with a gloss finish, it scratches it easily. But, all in all, it's very durable, like it says. But do yourself a favor and try to find a cheaper alternative like I did.

                I love these straps

Comments about Levy's Military Webbing 2" Guitar Strap:

These have become my go-to guitar strap. Whenever I buy a new guitar, I immediately order one of these to match it.
It's s strap - no "features" to speak of, other than it holds your guitar onto you. My only complaint is that the ends are too thick to really use strap locks. But that's a minor gripe for me, since I rarely use them.

As far as the distressed look goes, I have every color of this strap but green, and black tends to be, in my opinion, the most truly distressed-looking. The others look more like oil stains and burns - which, to be honest I like a lot. But others might prefer a more wear & tear look.
I've got 5 of these straps, and they've all been consistent in quality. Tough, thick, and nicely colored/distressed.
Great straps. I've had more expensive ones, and these hold up just as well as the more expensive straps I've bought.

                The 2012 straps are improved: Levy's MC8TW

                By Joel Sink

                from Raleigh, NC

Comments about Levy's Military Webbing 2" Guitar Strap:

I was skeptical of this product having seen all the reviews of painted-on aging, black bleeding to blue, and machine-like repetitive scuffing. I would say all of these have been eliminated, though the scuffing is still a bit uniform. Overall almost exactly as represented on the manufacturer's website for the MC8TW. Note that the Musician's Friend images haven't been updated as of the time of this review.
                -leather/suede ends
                -realistically-worn cotton strap
                -acoustic/headstock loop included if desired
                -infinite length adjustment
It's well made and looks like it should hold up a long time.
Considering this is available at almost half the retail price...excellent value.

                Navy Blue is not Black

                By BillBrutal

                from Louisiana

Comments about Levy's Military Webbing 2" Guitar Strap:

I just received my "black" guitar strap. When I opened the box, it seemed to look slightly blue-black. I'm horrible at looking at my dress socks and knowing if it is navy blue or black until I put it next to my black shoes. When I put this strap next to my "real black" Les Paul, the strap looked more blue then black. It completely did not match the instrument and looked horrible next to it. I don't know too many people who buy a strap to match their clothes, because it looked more like blue jeans when it was on the guitar. I guess for all you who play a navy blue guitar, you're in luck. But for the minority who play black guitars, you are going to need to find another strap to match your instrument.

Distressed leather ends = cracked headstock

                By RenegadeDave

                from Marietta, GA

Comments about Levy's Military Webbing 2" Guitar Strap:

Fiddling with a tuner today the guitar's angle shifted and rather than stiff leather ends Levy's keeps with the distressed theme and uses distressed leather, which means the leather is softer/more pliable than you find on most guitar straps of the same age. Neck button comes loose and headstock bangs on the ground. Now my Les Paul is in the shop having it's neck fixed. Do not recommend this strap unless you plan on using strap locks of some variety. The strap itself is a good strap otherwise.

well, i have the green strap, and it doesnt look like the one in the picture. it has a little more wear to it, and the one i bought has sergeant stripes and a star about 6 inches above the Levy's logo. almost too short since im a built 6'4" but it still fits good. yes it is a little stiff, but its starting to loosen up.
