I have been using these cables for several years now for everything. Guitar to pedal, pedal to pedal and pedal to amp. I have never had a problem, and if you do they will replace it. I gig and rehearse about 3 times a week. Looking at some of the bad reviews, I don't know what these people are doing with these cables. The ends will unscrew with rough handling as they are meant to be removeable. If this is a problem this can easily be solved with a little silicone on the threads.

I got my used Epiphone guitar around nine months ago for my birthday, and my dad got me a livewire guitar cable to go with it. Well I had never used a different cable, so I didn't know the poor quality of the one I was stuck with. The first few months were great, but after awhile I noticed a slight buzzing. Eventually the stupid thing just stopped working and I opened it up to find that the soldering was done very poorly and it had of course broken. so i re-solderd it only to find that now it makes an even more annoying buzzing noise, especially when plugged into a large amp. I immediatly went to a guitar center and bought my self a quality cable, monster to be exact, and have not been disappointed. I suppose this cable would work for connecting things that wouldn't really move (such as amps or effect peddals) but for connecting your guitar to your amp it just isn't up for the job. Unless you're into metal or something and like buzzing, or if you enjoy soldering more than playing your guitar than this is the cable for you. Other wise, don't pinch your pennies and buy something that you wont have to use the lifetime warrenty on, like a monster cable.

Worst cable out there

By Anonymous

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

They sound good but one little but step or tug on it and it's all over. I've had 3 of these and they are all broken. They are supposed to be a good quality cable but they are not durable at all.

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

I've bought a couple of these cables in the past, and they have yet to fail me. I have no problems with buzzing, breakage, or anything like that. These cables are definitely affordable and I will definitely continue to use them in the future. This is a safe investment.

Decent Cable Low Price

By Alex-44ry_

from Seattle WA

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

I've never had the same problems some other people are talking about. I got my cable about 2 years ago, and it still plays amazingly. My friends have had to replace Monster Cables as they got shot and my cable still sounds as great as the day I bought it. The insulation is great, it seriously cut down on the hum I got from playing in a garage with fluorescent lights. Also, for anyone talking about solder problems, there's a reason the ends screw off, so you can put a touch of solder on and have it be good as new. I haven't even had to do that yet though. I would highly recommend this cable.

Only for Musicians

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

Belden wire, switchcraft ends, lifetime guarantee. These are meant for connecting guitars to amplifiers. They don't work well as jump ropes, lifelines, or tightropes. With the right amount of effort, they can be broken. They can also be easily repaired, or if you can't do that, they have a lifetimes guarantee against material defects, which does not include performance art.

Oh The Horror

By Dani Sue Jiminy

from New York, NY

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

This is quite possibly the worst cable ever created by mankind. In fact, it is so terrible that I doubt it was made by the hands of man. Evil as great as this could only come from Satan himself. A piece of licorice wrapped in foil does a more efficient job than this cable. Please do me and yourself a favor and never purchase this monstrosity of a product. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews like I was.

Harsh sounding

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

I found Live Wire cables to sound harsh and brittle, lacking in bass and fullness of one.
I bought mine from M Friend a few years back so maybe they changed, maybe not.
I'm not a complete cork-sniffer but I can tell guitar cords when they sound different.

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

Connector housing is knurled and fits well in your hand. Last 3 inches of cable is protected with a blue jacket, shrink-wrapped for durability and looks cool ! I'm not hard on my equipment, so this cable might outlive me :)
