Comments about Lost Country Original Delta Slider Fiber Optic Guitar Glide:

I usually go for ceramic slides, which do well on hollow-body electrics and low-action acoustics, and tried this fiber optic glass slide out as an alternative. I found it to be fast with a clean and crisp sound. If you like tapered slides (and I don't) you will like the shape. It dropped about a foot onto a hardwood floor and developed an 'L' shaped crack but still playable. A bit expensive, but overall a nice slide. If they ever make them straight, without a taper I'll buy two.

Lost Country Fiber Optic Guitar Slide

      By Scott Adams

Comments about Lost Country Original Delta Slider Fiber Optic Guitar Glide:

As one would expect, the Lost Country Fiber Optic guitar slide does sound like a glass slide. It produces an extremely smooth sound* due to its polished outer surface, including the tips. The rougher inner surface facilitates holding the slide without slippage. Inside and outside diameters are excellent for comfortable use on either my "pinky" or ring finger. In my opinion, the slide would be even better if it were a quarter inch longer. (I solved that problem by making a small "donut" out of ebony and gluing it to the wide end of this tapered slide. That assures that the slide will cover all six strings when I need it to.) Its weight seems about mid-range between the heavier brass slides and ultra-light glass slides. It feels slightly heavier than a normal wine bottle neck, but its weight is very comfortable and does not cause any hand or finger fatigue, which I sometimes experience with heavy brass slides.

Bonus: Under certain light angles, this slide is almost luminous!

      * If you specifically want a scratchy, raw sound for certain blues or rock applications, this is NOT the slide for you. Certain commercially made glass bottles have rougher exterior surfaces. But the Lost Country is perfect if you want the sound of a high quality smooth glass slide.
This slide has straight sides, which happens to work well on some of my guitars. However, it would be good if another version of this slide were offered with curved sides, because the fretboard and string configuration of some guitars favors slides with a slight amount of curvature, such as is found on some wine bottle necks and certain brass slides. The slide is tapered, which increases its comfort and ease of use. Wall thickness is sufficient and contributes mass for excellent sound quality.
The exterior glass surface is extremely smooth and polished. Equally important, the tips of the slide are nicely rounded and finished, which facilitates sliding on the "inner" (2nd - 5th) strings.
A little expensive for a glass slide, but it is well made and performs well.

      Excellent!

Comments about Lost Country Original Delta Slider Fiber Optic Guitar Glide:

Over all I love it. Pricey and fragile, but still one of the best I've had out of a couple dozen.
This slide has it all. Looks, perfect weight, sound is amazing. Too cool to look at when you hold it up to the light. I'd call it a middle range slide when it comes to weight. Not too heavy, not too light. And either of those are hard to deal with in my opinion. And this one takes all the scratchiness out of the strings. Very smooth with a great sound.
Dropped my first one off my amp and it got a small crack in it (still able to use it). But was a little disappointed that it was so fragile. But having said that, I bought two more, one of each color. I'll just be more careful with these.
Pretty expensive as far as slides go, but I feel well worth it when you hear how they sound and play.

      A perfect glass slide

      By Andy-g7rh4

Comments about Lost Country Original Delta Slider Fiber Optic Guitar Glide:

I prefer glass slides for a less bright, more midrangey tone but glass just inst tough enough for me. Sometimes when I get really into it and get a little wild ill hit the fret ends with my slide. Regular glass slides will nick up, brass slides will scratch, this "Fiber Optic Guitar Glide" doesnt do either. Its tough. The weight is just right. Light enough to be maneuverable, heavy enough for good sustain. The length is a little shorter than most slides, but its still got enough length to get across all 6 strings at the bridge of my acoustic, and length to spare for my electrics. The taper is very subtle. I've had one for 2 months and I didn't realize that it was tapered until I read this page. Also, it's pretty.I'm going to order a second one right now for a backup (not that I expect to need it.)

      Simplicity is best...

Comments about Lost Country Original Delta Slider Fiber Optic Guitar Glide:

This slide, for me at least, give you only what you need- a slide! Why do manufacturers feel a need to replicate a bottle? What purpose does the lip serve other than to get hung up on the strings? This slide is just the right length and diameter. The sound is somewhere between glass and brass- sharp and clear but not whiney. And the slight concave shape allows you to focus on certain strings without hitting all of them. Brilliant idea- how come no one has thought of that before? Great product. And it also looks cool as hell.
