After much reading about the sound qualities of different kinds of strings, I used bronze or PB's custom lights for a long time. I first tried these strings on my backup/practice guitar - a folk sized Simon and Patrick. The sound was sweet and the strings soft to the touch and easy to play. My main player is a Masterbilt EF500RCCE and it has a rather dark tone. I was afraid to go any lighter than the custom lights (11-52) that I've been using because I was afraid of excessive volume loss. After putting these on, the tone is considerably brighter and better and volume is equal to, if not better, than the custom lights. I play a mixture of finger style and strumming and these strings sound excellent for both. After years of experimenting w/strings my search is over. Don't be put off by the lightness of the gauge - these are easily equal to regular lights in volume IMO. Save your fingers and boost your tone at the same time. Best strings I have EVER used. Excellent!

Too bright for my ear.
I may be a stick-in-the-mud. I tried these strings in an attempt to remove a little of the brightness from my Martin HD28. I wanted a little more pop sound than Blue Grass. I got 60's 12 string sound instead. I just put them on today. I will remove them tomorrow. Some will love them. I am still searching for MY String! The Silk and Phosphor are not it! It may be the lighter guage.
Martin Quality.

Comments about Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I've played guitar a long time. I don't believe one string gauge is better than the next in every instance. These strings prove it. They're not loud, but the tone is exquisite. These strings made me a big fan. I play five different brands of guitars. All of which sound different. These strings made the best come out in all of them. Especially the D-35 Martin. Whatever gauge you use, you owe it to yourself to at least give these strings a try. They've been on my guitars a month and they still sound better than any of the coated strings ever did. This will more than likely be the string I use from now on.

Comments about Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings:
Got these for my daughter's new ovation that came w/medium bronze strings that were very bright and loud! When she sang acoustic, it drowned her out. We put these on (and took out a shim in the bridge) and the guitar is the most effortless and smooth sounding guitar ever. Love them.

Comments about Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I just put these on a week ago and like the feel and tone. I prefer a mellow sound so these are good for me. The jury is still out on an overall rating since I like to give it some time. I had previously used much more expensive strings that I liked very much but they didn't hold up for very long. The G string winding was breaking and the D was showing that it wasn't long for the world. Time will tell but so far I'd give these strings a thumbs up.
Comments about Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings:
These are very good strings- low tension, easy on the fingers. Nice even balanced tone. Beautiful, warm sound. Try a set.
Very good quality strings.
These strings are a great value.

Comments about Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings:
These are good strings with a unique sound. They sound good on and off the stage.
I purchased these Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor acoustic guitar strings because I wanted to try something new on my Yamaha FGX-series acoustic. When I first pulled them out of the bag, I noticed that they were very soft and flexible, but not as soft and flexible as classical strings. After they were tuned up they stayed in tune (with minor adjustments) just like a regular set of Phosphor Bronze strings would. These strings are easy to pluck and gentle on the fingers. They sound really good when you're not plugged in to a PA system. I think they still sounded good even when plugged in, but they sounded really different from my regular strings which are usually bright (John Pearse Phosphor Bronze, Elixir nanowebs). The only negative thing I've noticed so far is that the bass strings tend to rattle if you play loud. When I use regular Phosphor Bronze strings, they don't rattle. I'm thinking of getting medium gage next time. Hopefully that will fix the problem.
Comments about Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings:
These strings are great! I used to play medium gauge phosphor bronze. These strings are not as bright, but amazingly, they're almost as durable with some really great harmonics. Plus, they're much easier on the fingers. Buy a set and you'll never look back.
Comments about Martin FX130 Silk and Phosphor Acoustic Guitar Strings:
The best strings for my accoustic electric. Very easy on the fingers allow you to play longer. I usually play 2 hours a day or longer!!! Keeps my sanity. They sound great!!! better sustain and more clarity. I flat pick each note!!!
