I have been using this polish for years. I use it on my martin DC1E. My fender strat and Tele.If those of you who have used lemon oil its a big mistake.Martin prides themselves for over 175 years being in business. . They would not put a product out there that would cause damage.I have used other products and I believe yhis is the best.

I was looking for a good cleaner for my Martin D28. The manual that came with my guitar recommended the Martin polish. It said to not ever use cleaners with lemon oil. I had been using a product for years that contained lemon oil and it always did great.  Anyway, I thought I'd give this product a try. I sprayed a small amount on a cloth and wiped down the backside of the neck. As soon as I wiped down the neck, I wiped it off with a clean cloth.  It looked like the polish stripped a layer of the finish off. It left a real dull finish on the neck. I immediately got a damp cloth and wiped over the neck again trying to take that cleaner off. Still looked real dull. I put some lemon oil back on the neck and it helped a little, but not much. I think the Martin cleaner took all the shiny finish off the wood. I am so glad I didn't use it anywhere else on the guitar, especially the front. I know that my guitar is "real" solid hardwood. I know of a guy that contacted Martin company to ask about unrelated repair work. They connected him to the people that does the repairs on guitars. While talking to them, he asked them what kind of product to use for cleaning his Martin guitar and they told him to use another namebrand of cleaner/polish (a kind that they don't make or sell). I can't believe Martin would recommend such a lousy product. I've since talked to other Martin guitar owners and they all said to stay away from Martin polish!!!

Okay, I admit to years of abusing my guitars with Pledge and other furniture polishes until finally discovering Martin Guitar Polish. It does a superb job of cleaning (not just polishing) older instruments especially. It even removed magic marker from an old mahogany ukulele! (Don't ask why anyone would write on a ukulele...)

For those of you that happen to own an "X" series Martin guitar (like the reviewer above who accused this stuff of ruining his guitar) or a satin finish guitar, do not use this polish. The X series guitar are a wood fiber (i.e. fake press wood) Textured Finish (HPL is a High Pressured Laminate?like Formica with a textured finish?not real wood). So for him it's like using wood polish on fake plastic wood?get a real wood guitar. I use this polish on my Martin 000-28 (solid sitka spruce and indian rosewood) and it is perfect polish for it. Most times I use warm water and damp cotton cloth. When I change strings I hit it with polish.
