I bought these strings after being really frustrated with D'Addario 10s, the E strings snapped within a few days of use.Martins are MUCH more durable. And much easier on the fingers in my opinion... and these are 11s! I have now had a Martin Bluegrass set in for about 3 months! (granted its not ideal to leave them in that long, but my point is, they last!)

The G, D and A strings installed perfectly. I then went through two packs of high E's, breaking every one. They didn't unwind at the loop, they snapped in the middle. Could be a quality control problem but to have this happen in two packs was very frustrating. I won't be buying Martin strings again.

Comments about Martin M450 80/20 Bronze Bluegrass Acoustic Mandolin Strings:

These strings sound and feel good. They're the prefect gauge for me, not so light that they lose tone or feel floppy.
I use GHS Fast Fret with them and they keep their tone for a long time.

I use these on my 1970's Aria F Style as my primary Bluegrass Mandolin. Nice even tone and good volume on the chop. They stabilize quickly and hold tune well.

I'm not usually picky about strings or anything, so I bought these. Turns out that both e strings snapped while changing the strings. Not very happy

Comments about Martin M450 80/20 Bronze Bluegrass Acoustic Mandolin Strings:

I really like these strings! They seem to last longer than cheaper Martin strings that I have tried, and have great tone and punch. I play bluegrass, and they get the job done. I am new to mandolin (guitarist), and there are probably just as good or better strings out there, but it will be a while before I go looking for them. I'm going to lay in a supply...

the strings sound great however since this is the first time I am using these I would like to point out that I am not very happy with the E strings. One broke while being tuned. ;It did not break by the tuner but rather in the middle of the strintg. I will see how the rest of the strings work out.
