Better than the real thing.

By Adam Bunn

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2908 Jazz Bass Replacement Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard:

After reading other reviews on Mighty Mite necks, I got a little worried. No reason for that. After ordering my neck, I went to my local guitar store and took a look at the Fender basses they had there. As you went up in price point, the necks got a little better - no shock there. Out of the box, the fret work on my neck was better than the MIA Jazz Basses they had. Running my hand up and down the neck, you can barely feel the fret ends. All frets are seated nice and tight. The action was a little low, but this neck is replacing a fretless neck so I figured on that.

The big complaint that I saw on these necks is that they are not drilled. If you can't use a drill you probably shouldn't be ordering parts for your bass.

This is a great neck for a great price.

Buy it.

Not bad for a cheap neck

By Mofrak

Comments about Mighty Mite MM2908 Jazz Bass Replacement Neck with Rosewood Fingerboard:

I had three main issues with this neck:1. The only pre-drilled holes are the tuning keys holes. And even those were the wrong size for the Hipshot tuners I bought. I emailed Hipshot and they sent me the correct size bushings. The first time I installed the neck, I got it crooked and had to fill and redrill the holes.2. It didn't fit all the way into the pocket at first. I had to use a sanding block to round off the corners a bit to get it to fit.3. I had to shim the neck with a piece of a business card near the outside two screws. Otherwise I would have had to set the bridge all the way up to make it playable. The frets seem OK. I'm sure a fret dressing would make it play better. If you want a neck that installs with less trouble, you can easily spend $200+ for a Warmoth or $400 for a Moses neck. This neck is a pretty good deal for the price.
