This cable definitely gives your a very clear sound and it does it well, for the most part. I pass my cables through my strap, so that I don't yank them out or trip over them, and so I figured an angled end would be very beneficial. The cable cuts out every once in a while, and almost any time that I move around. I don't know if this is just with my specific cable, but my cheap, brandless cable does a better job. This cable is definitely road-worthy, but at first it is TOO sturdy and tangles up easily since it doesn't bend well. I would say get it, but any other cheaper cable could do the very same or better job, with a very small tonal difference.

8 years and no problems

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Rock 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

I've been gigging regularly with the 12' cables for 8 years and haven't had any of the problems described in other reviews. Hundreds of shows in all sorts of conditions. I've recently added a pair of 21' cables for longer stage runs and have had no problems with the new versions either. If you remove other cheaper cables from you signal chain and have good gear, you will hear a difference in sound. Are they pricey? Yup. Worth it? Definitely.

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Rock 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

This is the 2nd of the same cable I have tried since the 1st one had to be returned. It cuts out easy and the wiring seems to have a short near the angled end. This is exactly what happened to the 1st one I bought from MF...then they exchanged it without any issues...but the 2nd cable had EXACTLY the same problem. I think bad design due to the heavy gauge of the cable shorts it out about 1 inch back from the end. Would not recommend!

    Good Cable

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Rock 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

I gave this 10s accross the board because I don't have a dislike about this cable. They even give you a name brand velcro cable wrap. The thicker cable diameter really keeps this thing looking and working great. People and Monster say that these cables sound better because of all the features, I don't have super sensitive ears and I can't tell the difference really but where it shines in sound quality is in what you don't hear, Monster says it reduces pops, cracks, hum and interference and I would have to agree with that.
The connector has gold contacts and Monster says that it has a "sexy body shape" which lets you get a grip on her waist when plugging and unplugging. I guess it is sexy. 24k gold contacts. The connector body has a gasket which helps keep it from unscrewing, something my other cables always do. The contacts on the connector are surrounded by a thick plastic cocoon that keeps the cable from flexing at the sodering points. This thing is really beefy and well made. The cable itself has a Duraflex protective jacket which is thicker than other cables and Monster says it has: Carbon-Infused Dielectric, Solid core center conductor for tighter bass response for a more powerful bottom-end. Multiple-gauge wire networks and 95% copper braided shield for lower noise.
I think that this cable if of superior quality simply because I've used these for years and still have the first one I bought and use it daily, that's something I can't say about my other cables.
I'm giving it a 10 on value because I got it on a great sale but otherwise these are pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Rock 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

These are by far the best cables on the market. i tried a more expensive Mogami cable and it didn't compare in quality or sound.

I got all monster cables for my rig.2 for the Effects loop, patch cables, and instrument cables.

The first thing I noticed was that it cleaned up the sound dramatically. They produce a clear clean signal. There is little to no sound degradation with these. They have a PVC shielding that helps a great deal in canceling out rouge radio/electrical waves.

They are a bit pricey, but i would say its well worth the investment. Your ears will thank you. i'll never play through anything else.

As far as quality, ive had no problems so far. they have a pretty tough but flexible rubber. I don't see them falling apart from normal wear and tear.

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Rock 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

This cable has all of the components of cables that are much more expensive. The seals that are put over the soldered connections appear to be air tight. They also reinforce the connection point to keep the cable from flexing in that spot. It doesn't look like they would wear out very easily even after years of abuse from the road. The only downfall I can see is the core of the cable. It does make my guitar sound better but the cable is not as slinky as I would prefer it to be. Maybe it will loosen up after a few months of playing but if not, the quality of the cable still outweighs stiffness. I will be buying all monster instrument and speaker cables after seeing how much sound I was losing with my old rapco.

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Rock 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

I own a couple of these, a 30 ft, 2-6 ft and a 21 ft. I use one of the 6 and the 30 for my effect pedals, the other 6 to connect my head to my cab and the 21 for my guitar. I?ve used them everyday for a little more then 4 years now, and I have not had a single problem with them. I?ve used them for shows and practices, and they have taken beating very well. Before these I had some fender cables and I would have to replace them every 3 months or so. These are defiantly one of the best cables out there. They?re expensive but mine have last me a long time and the price is worth what you?re getting.

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Rock 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

Been playing for nine years and it's the best cable I've ever used. I have used at least 30 different cables, many of which were very cheap and only lasted weeks. However even the best ones have had a lot of clipping and hiss. The Monster Rock cable has very little hissing and no clipping. It is rather expensive, but in my opinion worth the price.

            An Honest Review

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Rock 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

Expensive cables, but have a lifetime warranty you will probably never need to use.
Heavy and tangle easily, but very durable and have incredible sound.

In my experience, they have worked awesome and I won't ever use another cable. My best advice is to just buy one and try it out for yourself. I highly recommend them to anyone who is serious about their tone and wants a good reliable cable they can take on the road.
I have 4 of these cables in 12', 21'(x2), and 30'. The straight plug works great for plugging into amps, and the angled plug is awesome for most, but not all, guitars. The reason I say that is because with my strat, I have to plug the angled end into my amp to get it to fit right with the guitar. This isnt a huge problem for me, but its still a minor inconvenience.

The only other problem I have had is that these cables are heavy and they do tangle easily. While it is kind of annoying sometimes, I think the quality of the cables make up for that.
I have taken these cables to heck and back on stages across the midwest and never once have I had a single problem or broken a jack like the other reviews have stated. I had originally purchased these cables because I had heard they are very durable, I had been going through a new set of cables almost weekly before I bought these. I step on these cables all the time and toss them around on a daily basis, and they still work excellent for me. As far as sound quality goes, they are the best I have ever used. The sound from these is amazing, even in the 21' and 30' cables I havent noticed any issues as I have with other long cables.

There are some people reviewing that their sound crackles or cuts out, I don't beleive that the cable is broken. I have found that when you plug an angled jack into a guitar input, it tends to rotate inside the jack as you move. This of course can loosen the jack inside the guitar or break the connection. This has happened to me twice in the past year, and my solution was to tighten the jack or repair it, which I have found to be regular maintenance with any guitar anyways.
This is my biggest issue with these cables, the price. Are they worth what they cost? For me, yes, but I can see how they wouldn't be for everyone. Im always looking for ways to improve my tone, and these cables have helped me clear up my sound without a doubt. One thing to keep in mind is that your tone will only be as strong as the weakest link. If you run a monster cable into a pedalboard wired with cheap cables, you won't notice a difference. While it can be a hefty investment to upgrade every single cable in your rig, you will definately notice a difference in the end.

Comments about Monster Cable Monster Rock 1/4" Straight - Angled Instrument Cable:

I own 2 of these. I've replaced both within months of purchasing. They have a lifetime warranty, and you'll definitely be using it. Then ends are too heavy and this may be causing the problems. You can't repair them yourself because the "genius" engineers have covered the solder joint in a plastic sheath that can't be removed without damaging & voiding the warranty. Both of mine got shorted near the 1/4" jack (no i don't pull on the cable either, i unplug with the jack itself and I also loop it through my strap). If you gig alot, you'll destroy these cables. If you have a soldering iron, just buy any oxygen free cable that allows you to unscrew the cylinder cover on the 1/4" jacks and fix it yourself. A DIY fix is much faster and less expensive than having to travel to a music store or ship them back for a replacement. Another tip - always, always, always, carry a few spare cables with you - think about that when you go to spend $40 a cable ;0)

I own a guitar cord and a mic cord. To be honest I've had a problem with each one time over the years, but a quick return to guitar center, no questions asked. As far as tangling goes, I have had this issue. I figured out that everytime I turn around I turn to the right. Of course they get tangled if you turn the same way everytime. I really like the material and feel of the cables and find them easy to coil. I will never buy another brand.
