I bought this product because I mainly needed a product to supply all my equipment with protected power. If I'm spending thousands of dollars on professional audio equipment I have no problem spending $299 on something to protect it.This unit is built amazingly well. Solid metal. Everything is built with amazing quality and doesn't look like trash made of plastic like alot of surge protectors look like. The readouts on the front of the unit are extremely useful. The first day I put this unit in my rack it protected my equipment from a spike in voltage. All the lights were blinking in my house, but this unit seemed to do fine through it.Another useful feature is a plug on the back (and front) of the unit for snakeneck lights. The one on the back makes it easy to plug things in to the back of my rack. Also, very smart having dimmer knobs for the lights so you only turn them on when needed instead of having to disconnect the light completely (wish my mixer has the same feature).Anyway, point is. This unit is completely worth the money and I have absolutely no complaints.

Obviously I'm very unhappy with this unit and I've tried really hard not to vent about that. I was talked into buying this when my local music store was out of the Furman I was looking for. I like Monster products, they've always been great for me. Cables, surge protectors, AV cables in my living room, my favorite XLR when I'm live - all Monster. Well I hear that Monster Power has an excellent RMA department. We'll find out - sales guy told me they have a lifetime warranty. If I can get another unit from them or have them fix this one I will use it for my studio... Rumor is that's the only useful thing to do with these things. If we go rackmounted again live, we'll stick to Furman, I've never had a problem with any of their units.
Has everything you want out of a power conditioner - as far as features. Don't really need to say more.
(purchased with a roadrunner 8 unit case so it's always been sheltered) Took it out of the box one year ago this week, had problems from the start. One of the twelve outlets in the back didn't work. Shelved the unit at that time. Took it out six months later when our guitarist decided to start using his rack-mounted EQ and Lexicon fx units... found out only eight of the twelve outlets worked. So we shelved the unit again (thinking it may have been a bad power source we were plugging into at our practice space.)
Mind you, everyone in my band works a full time job so when we run into a snag we just set the offending piece in a corner and try to get to it later. So recently I had some spare time and I thought "lets see what we can do with this." I took it into my garage where I have a dedicated receptacle that is solo on the circuit, i.e. the plug is the only thing on the breaker so I know it's getting good juice. Well guess what? Now we're down to six (out of twelve) outlets working. One year, used it literally four times, and HALF of the outlets are dead.
A "ten" for features doesn't fix the "one" for quality. It's supposed to have those features, that's why we buy the things. I'm giving this a "two" because I hear these are great in a studio.

Comments about Monster Cable PRO 3500 Rack PowerCenter:
I saw a great deal for this power center at Musicians Friend and purchased it for my studio. Prior to owning this product I noticed small discrepencies in my audio from time to time; minor cracks and fuzz. After troubleshooting cables and gear I decided to upgrade my power center and this thing is a gem. My system has never sounded so good! All outlets/features worked perfectly and it is definitely worth the price I paid and more.

Comments about Monster Cable PRO 3500 Rack PowerCenter:
I bought this a couple of years ago and then I thought it was a great buy. However, after two years of light use, 3 hours once a week, we turned it on and the abnormal voltage light came on and the receptacles would not power up. I unplugged it and took it home and after a day I tried it out again in my studio. I left it plugged in for about two weeks and it finally showed the abnormal voltage light again. the receptacles did power back up this time. I'm sending it back for repairs and if it cost over $100, they can keep the piece of crap! Don't waste your time and money on this. What they do, they do well...until they crap out on you. I wouldn't use this anymore on a gig even though it's a quiet as a mouse....if and when it works!
Comments about Monster Cable PRO 3500 Rack PowerCenter:
I have had three of the Monster 3500 units and I have now given up on them for live outdoor use. Studio use may be fine but the first time I used mine brand new out of the box I used it at a live sound venue with a 6K Inverter Generator. The unit's receptacles lost power after a a set and I could not get them to work after powering on/off. I sent the unit in and got a brand new one and the same thing happened twice (and with regular commerical power service). Do your research, it is way over-protected for outdoor use.
Comments about Monster Cable PRO 3500 Rack PowerCenter:
This is a great piece of gear. It absolutely does all that is advertised. It is quiet and very clean and transparent - the way power should be. It monitors incoming voltage continuously and if that voltage spikes at 132 or higher - it will automatically shut down everthing attached to it saving your equipment. I own 6 of these - one in each rack. You could not pay me enough to turn on my equipment without it 1st being pluged into this 3500.
Comments about Monster Cable PRO 3500 Rack PowerCenter:
I bought this on a whim as I was purchasing two sets of noisless pickups. I was playing at a place that I knew to be a "HISS & Buzz" nightmare. This place uses flouresent lighting as well as dimmers on their stage lighting. A virtual nightmare for the mmusician trying to play there. When setting up, I instructed my guys to plug everything into the 3500. We plugged everything, I mean every amp and anything else except the lighting (which were plugged into wall sockets on different circuits) and the results were AMAZING! Dead quiet, not a hiss or buzz to be found anywhere in the PA system. Everything was great. I am sold on this product. By the price I can see that Monster is very proud of their product. They should be. This thing is Awesome! I hope it lasts as I would hate to have to buy another one but, I would because it's that good. 3 stage filtering and power up sequence makes this thing one of the handiest tools a gigging musician can have. If you want a nice quiet PA system and amps, Get this and you won't be sorry you did. I wasn't! Thanks Monster.
Comments about Monster Cable PRO 3500 Rack PowerCenter:
Having read the reviews I was hoping for a significant change in the noise floor of my recording set up. Everying (Mixer, Combo amp, Boss Gt-6 Guitar pedal, Yamaho MO8, powered speakers, and computer) are plugged into the correct outlets for their hardware type but I still don't notice a big change in my amp's noise floor and my powered speakers have a bit of a buzz to them the same as normal. Not sure if there's something I'm doing wrong (feel free to email me if you know) but right now my 3500 is being used as a glorified power bar that has a nice sequential power up (which I do like). As far as noise filtration, I don't notice any.
Comments about Monster Cable PRO 3500 Rack PowerCenter:
I use the Monster Pro 3500 in a studio setup to power my digital interfaces, DAW controller, mic pres, compressors, and monitor speakers. It is the best solution in its price range. In a building with stable AC, it worked flawlessly for 3 years until yesterday, when the delayed outlets would not power up.The fix: unplug the unit and plug it in again so that it will reinitialize. However, Monster tech support simply told me to return the unit. I would definitely try this first!
Comments about Monster Cable PRO 3500 Rack PowerCenter:
I have owned this unit for three years, On good days it works without problems other days it is glitchy at best.I have had it R&Red by Monster 3 times in three years. It is probably the worst investment in equipment that I have made. The unit I am running is currently dead which is why I am online today, shopping for another unit "Furman" this time.Of all the units I own the only problem free power conditioners I own are all Furman. And from this day forward all power conditioners in my systems will be Furman.
Comments about Monster Cable PRO 3500 Rack PowerCenter:
My band was playing a restaurant/lounge during a severe wind storm in late fall. A sudden power spike hit the business frying their entire internal computer system. Needless to say the Pro-3500 absorbed the hit and protected all of our equipment. In fact it took such a hit that the conditioner failed the next night. No problem though as Monster gladly replaced the unit. I was told the spike had to be massive to damage the unit itself. I now have two of them and will not play without it.
