Morrell Music Lap Steel Stand  

Very similar to the familiar keyboard x stands, this stand does and equally fine job of supporting a non-pedal steel. For a person of average height, the stand is perfect.  For a 6'2" person (or more) the base supposts might possible too close together to be sturdy enough.  This is strictly a "stand up" stand as the support brackets would be too far apart to work while sitting down - that's what the lap is for while sitting.  The padded clamp holds the body of the guitar very nicely without danger of cratching the finish.  All in all this stand does the job and at a reasnoble price.

I was looking for something that put this at bench height, and this a stand up only stand. Also, not adjustable enough to firmly hold my vintage Rick lap steel. Kind of disappointing clamping system. Avoid this if possible...
