Don't spend more if you don't have a very expensive instrument. I build and play guitars. I've had many, many cases over a lot of years. If you are not traveling a bunch, this is the only case you'll need. Spend three times as much and you'll get a better case, just not much better. Nothing is going to protect it if it flies out of the truck bed.

This is my second guitar case; my other is a vintage-style Martin case I bought for around one-seventy. I just needed something to keep at home to store and humidify my second dreadnought acoustic. This case seems just about right. I didn't need something to travel with, so I thought a cheaper case would suffice. The look of this case is killer--the tweed exterior is really cool, the red interior is a nice contrast, and the raised Geib-style top offers added architectural protection. The hinges aren't heavy or very high quality, but at this price, I didn't expect them to be. I hope they hold up. The most annoying thing about the case is that the hingest don't ususally align perfectly when closing, so I have to re-open and close or push in on a hinge or two. I'm hoping this will correct itself after a few months of use. The fit is nice and snug for my dread, which is nice. The case is medium heaviness. Like Boris the Blade says, "Heavy is good. Heavy is reliable," and I tend to agree. There was a small bubbled area on the exterior where the tweed was glued and didn't take 100%, and there was a spot on the interior where excess plush stuck out. (I cut it off). No big deal as long as you understand you're getting what you pay for at under seventy-five buckeroos. Solid case for the price, just don't expect it to equal the quality of your Martin or nicer guitars.

This is a very nice case....for the price. It is definitely not of top quality but it does the job for a very reasonable price. The main disadvantage is the weight. It is quite heavy to carry and thus on long trips it can be a burden.

Comments about Musician's Gear Deluxe Dreadnought Case:
I needed a case for my acoustic guitars that I could leave lying around and didn't have to worry about banging up. Before purchasing this product I took the time to read others' reviews, and thought this one would be perfect for me since a few people said it wasn't a very good case. I think it's worth more than I paid for it. My guitar fits snuggly, and the case protects it extremely well during transport. The only problem it seems to have is that the locks don't always want to match up, but it's easy to push them into place. Even my nice cases do that.
I'm very happy with this product, and I would highly recommend it, and purchase it again.

Nice case for the money. I got a case and when opening one of the latches broke. i returned it and got a new case. other than the non-sturdy nature of the latches it is a great case.
