I teach guitar -- I bought this set, kept one for myself and gave the other two to students. This is a great deal. The stand has somewhat narrower tubing than my others, but that doesn't affect functionality. The legs were quite stiff when the set arrived, but I put machine oil at the turning points so the legs open and close more easily. The stand is lighter weight so it's that much easier to carry when traveling. The foam padding is a lighter weight and more porous than my others, but that doesn't appear to affect functionality either. The base piece that holds the guitar can separate from the larger stand if necessary for transport or storage, but the base piece also easily turns to a sideways position for flatter storage. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought a pack of 3 guitar stands for about the cost of one of the other brands. These work ok for home of studio use, but they can be easy to tip over, and there is on rubber strap at the top to help secure the guitar. But it works for me, as I use these guitar stands in my home recording studio, and always put my guitars back in the case when done.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (3-Pack):

I own seven guitars and keep them all on stands in my loft. I purchased two of these a few years ago and they were somewhat more stable and heavier duty stands, though the advertising was the same. That said, these are excellent stands and as good as stands I've paid far more for in the last fifty years. These are not as stable as the last musician's gear stands I bought and I don't recommend them for larger bodied dreadnaught or jumbo acoustics or heavier electric guitars or bases. They are, however, perfect for smaller bodied acoustic guitars and lighter weight electric guitars. For the price they simply can't be beat! I'm also happy to be able to display all my guitars cost effectively!

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (3-Pack):

I've been playing guitar for 52 years and have used many different types of guitar stands. If you treasure your guitars you should use these stands with caution! These stands were made with quality in mind, but went sparingly on materials. The tubing used is smaller in diameter which makes the stands lighter in weight and less expensive to make. These stands are easier to knock over because the legs are shorter than more expensive stands. The set screw (knob) will strip out if over tightened. But, if used correctly and carefully, these stands will last a very long time. Just treat them as you would a fine instrument!

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (3-Pack):

Bought these not sure of how they'd hold up and 6 months later I'm quite satisfied. They do what they're meant to do and they keep my guitars upright and I haven't had any issues with them falling over on their own. If someone bumps them they will obviously topple over but for home, studio or even stage use, if you treat the stand accordingly it is a great investment for the price you pay.

Comments about Musician's Gear Electric, Acoustic and Bass Guitar Stands (3-Pack):

These are good stands for the money and work really well in low traffic areas (studio; home; etc). The legs are a little short, especially the rear leg, which makes them a little unstable for holding my basses. This may not be an issue for electric guitars since they would have shorter necks and a lower center of gravity. I still use the stands all the time for practice, but I'm not sure I would trust it on a gig unless I could put it in a corner or near a wall so that if it did tip over, it couldn't fall far. A good solid stage where I would be the only one moving near it, maybe. But any live music situation where the stage area is exposed to people passing by, not likely.

The bottom support has to be removed to make more compact when transporting, and gets lost or left behind, the vertical shaft won't slide down to make it shorter for travel. The top "cradle should be hinged (also the lower support) to fo;d more compactly. All in all, a very poor design.

I mostly play in my house. This stand is great in a low-traffic area. It holds my guitars securely. Being that its light, however, it can tip easily. BUt overall its a great stand.
