I got these for use in a small PA rack. Wanted to have balanced lines for everything to eliminate as much noise as possible. These cables work good for that. They might be too short for a larger rack.
No, they won't take the abuse presented by situations that require constant plugging and unplugging. For the cost (and used for the correct application) they can't be beat. It has been my experience that it is always good to have extras on hand cause you just never know...
I don't understand why anyone would try to use these for connecting pedals as not many stompboxes, IF any, have balanced ins/outs. Besides, I bought the TS version of these same cables for such a purpose.
If I were to suggest any cons, it would be that they are not all the same length (only by a half an inch from shortest to longest so I guess that is splitting hairs).
Oh Yeah, the colors make it REALLY easy to trace a connection.

not sure where the guy that wrote the review before me got that the connections were too small, and needed to be ducktaped to get a good conection. because i ordered these to hook up one of my ART VLA II compressors to my digi002R and well the connections are nice and snug and absolutely nothing wrong with them. they are 1/4" connections no smaller no bigger. good cheap little patch cables

      TRS-TRS patch cable

Comments about Musician's Gear TRS - TRS Patch Cable 8-Pack (17"):

I can not understand, how someone can not plug a patch cable! They are 1/4 " standart and they fit in every pedal i tried .The only issue is -they are stereo and if you conect stereo to mono ( much more common type) you may have conect one of your chanels to ground. Particular issue Boss RC-2. Otherwise ,is a cable.Remember, if you have hum and noise problems -it is not this cable. It is not better, but it is not worst than any comparable patch cable.

      TRS Patch Cable 8-Pack

      By Viken Ayvazian

Comments about Musician's Gear TRS - TRS Patch Cable 8-Pack (17"):

A pretty good purchase. It was impossible to know beforehand which of my pedals they were and weren't going to fit in. They were loose in my Boss pedals, but fit all my other pedals (MXR Carbon Copy, Rocktron Hush, Digitech Bad Monkey, and EHX Nano Small Stone Phaser). It's strange because they are all supposedly 1/4" cables and all my pedals also have all 1/4" inputs and outputs.
I bought these for extra length to connect pedals that are far away from each other, for flexibility unlike the metal right-angled versions, and because they are color coated. They do a great job in all those areas.
They are durable and look like they will last awhile. As far as functionality, they work perfectly. Haven't noticed any hum or reduction to my pedals, amp, or guitar tone.
A great deal for the price.

Comments about Musician's Gear TRS - TRS Patch Cable 8-Pack (17"):

I got two sets of these straight connectors to replace somewhat corroded patch cables and these are fantastic, even at the full price it's a great deal. I did have a noise problem that I could never track down, now it's all good and clean fun!. If you get 2-sets you can pair up the colors for your sterio equip.I don't know maybe the first reviewer got a bad batch. I would snag these if you need patch cables..

      All work fine.
Color coding and short length make connecting the floor equipment much faster. No tangle which I typically had with 10 to 20 foot chords.

These cables are doing the job on my pedal board

Comments about Musician's Gear TRS - TRS Patch Cable 8-Pack (17"):

If your on a budget and experimenting with laying out a pedal board, then these cables are a safe purchase to make.
The different colors are great. I can easily follow the cabling via color coding on my pedal board.
The first 5 that I've used have worked flawlessly. They arn't super duty, but for my home pedal board, I won't be stomping on them and such anyway. They won't save a ton of room on the pedal board as the plastic connectors stick out about 3/4" of an inch. I don't detect any noise from them either.
For the price it's hard to go wrong with these cables. Even if some don't hold up over time, I didn't pay enough to be concerned about it at all.

These cables got stuck in the xlr/trs combo jacks on both my audiofire pre8 and my GAP Pre-73MKII. There's a weird taper on the tip of the plug. In one situation, while trying to pull the cable out of a jack, the entire cable actually just tore off and I had to use pliers to remove what remained of the plug. These are horrible.

All 8 of these cables transmits a huge amount of noise, and two had almost dead loose connections straight out of the package.
Do not buy if you care about sound quality.
