Pair of Tubular Guitar Stands

| Review By: HOUNDDAWG | 1 month, 3 days ago

Features:

I bought a nearly identical stand back in the 70s, and I really liked it then. It went on the road with me and handled the rigors of travel surprisingly well.

Quality:

I bought the advertised pair of stands recently and I expect them to  serve me for years to come. I'll treat them with care equal to that of  the rest of my gear and they'll do the job. Of course I don't ever pile  them up with mike stand bases or heavy duty drum hardware, and I don't bury them in a trunk under the auto  bumper jack. I treat them well (load them on top) and they're ready  for duty when I get to a gig or session.

Value:

For the price, light weight and durability they are fantastic. And,  they're no more difficult to care for than my tuners, my mikes or the eyeglasses on  my face, none of which should suffer any abuse and all of which I expect to last for as long as I need them.

Overall:
You can pay beau coup dinero for other stands but they will let you down if you don't cradle them in and out of studios and live gigs. None of the available guitar stands are intended for prying up manhole covers or for bashing punks who climb on the stage.   Treat these with respect and and you won't be disappointed with their reliability.

awesome stands!

Features:

I got the two set of these because i switch between an rhandy rhoads V and a les paul for the most part and it holds them both well. any traditional round bottom guitar will be at home but if you have something wildly shaped like a v all you need to do is angle it a bit and bam it fits.

the support fork can twist sideways to acomidate any kind of v bc rich or whatever and the plastic bit that covers the neck isnt really needed but a nice touch in case you are paranoid about your guitars.

Quality:

guitars with a nitro-cellulose laquer finish get discolored i hear but aside from that its sturty and easy to asemble. you really dont need solid steel for a stand like this, its not going to break unless you try to break it

Value:

for the price you cant beat this. sturdy reliable and compact

Overall:

great for home or studio use, prolly not got gigging unless you have a lot of stage room

EXCELLENT VALUE

| Review By: Tom Burgess | 1 month, 3 weeks ago

Features:

They are exactly what you think they are: inexpensive guitar stands that keep your instruments available and at hand instead of locked away in cases.  They support a wide range of instrument sizes, shapes and weights.  The bottom U-shaped pair of tongs swivel at their center (as viewed from the front of the stand) and are able to adjust to oddly shaped butt ends on some basses and electric guitars.  No frills, just very practical basics.  Perfect.

Quality:

My guitars have modern finishes so I don't foresee any problems with the resilient covers affecting finishes adversely.  The stands support a wide range of instruments at the proper angle, titled back to the extent that I don't need to employ the rubber strap across the neck.  I use them for a heavy electric bass, electric guitar and jumbo acoustic.  These stands are entirely stabile in each application.

I read some user comments saying these stands are not up to job.  Mine are.  I find them to be exactly as described/expected with no defects whatsoever.  They're certainly up to the task of keeping my instruments at hand in a personal home studio.  I don't gig, so can offer no opinion regarding suitability to that more active, more damage-prone use.

Value:

OUTSTANDING.  Two for less than I expected to pay for one.  They work as intended with no material shortcomings.

Overall:

Some user reviews criticized construction, and I have no doubt that those user comments were justified at the time.  Apparently the mfr corrected those faults by the time mine were produced.  I bought in mid March 2012.
