Comments about Omnirax Force 24 Studio Desk:
I had actually ordered an Omnirax Force 12, but due to UPS losing the shipment, MF quickly sent me another. When it arrived however, I discovered they had sent a Force 24 in its place!MF wanted me to send it back, but rather than futz with returning such a large unit, were willing to cut a deal on the unit rather than put me, and them through the hassle of return and restock. Kudos to the MF team! It turns out this unit is suiting me far better than the Force 12 would have. I had originally thought the upper racks on the Force 12 would be easier to deal with, but boy was I ever wrong! All the equipment I have on the surface of this unit would have made it virtually impossible to access the controls of anything mounted there. Also, there would never have been enough room to mount the several drawers and power conditioners I eventually ordered, as well as the Joe Meek OneQ I am awaiting as I write this.I have had this unit for a year and a half now. There is plenty of room for my M-Audio Projectmix, two drum machines, a Johnson J-Station, Turntable, and extra computer keyboard all on the surface. The bridge is rock solid, is actually a self contained unit that rolls on its own if the two big screws that attach it are removed, and easily supports four 24 inch flat monitors securely. They don't even wobble when I move it to get behind it. It weighs a ton, and I may very well have to dismantle it some when I decide to move, but it was worth every penny. I use mine in a mostly "direct inject" home studio located in my living room. It's right up against a wall, with a rug right in front of it. In spite of its weight, I can still easily move it right over the carpet to access any wiring issues.Oh! And I almost forgot Two of my computer towers fit very nicely on the huge shelf underneath, with plenty of room to breath and clean around. Great for dust control!I only gave it a 4.5 for value because I don't know that I would have paid full price for it, but I did get it at a substantial discount brand new, in part because the Force 12 I bought was supposed to be a Scratch and Dent (that UPS kindly lost - Thanks UPS!)I would highly recommend this unit to ANYONE looking for a solid, spacious unit that will definitely increase your productivity!
