On-Stage Stands KS-7903 3-Tier: This is a toy. The plastic is cheap. IMPORTANTLY, be careful with the thread! Try to dismantle the composite top piece when screwing the pieces together. This will help you avoid stripping the thread. (Sorry, I am not sure what the names to the individual pieces are.) You get what you pay for so this is OK stand if you are just starting out and/or just want to practice (maybe sitting down).

Features:

Adjustable to meet needs of and mic both tall the not so tall singer.

Quality:

Had several of these over the years.  Need more so I purchased the 6 stand packagewhich comes with a nice carry bag.  Bag did not arrive with stands this time.  Had to follow up on status. Base is not weighted for stability but tripod legs are sufficient.

ok, but not built to last

Features:

I got this mic stand about 6 months ago. after about the third time I put it up it fell down. I was able to monkey with it for a while and actually took a piece off. After that it worked for a while. But then it started falling down again. I can not get it to stay up anymore. It worked great when it works, but now it doesnt and i am stuck shopping for a new one. I'm just starting recording and am on a budget, but i can see that i am going to have to get something a little more sturdy.

Just not built to last, nice for the cost, but if it won't last it's still a waste

Clutch Bolt Strips out

Purchased 2 of these     from MF on Sale.     First time to use,     A band mate said look the Boom is drooping.         Looking at the Boom Clutch bolt and the threaded Nut / with the T bond handles,     The Bolt threads and the bolt Look like wrong sizes to screw together.     Very sloppy threading of the bolt and Nut.         Rather then send them back,     I went to the hardware store and purchased a New Bolt and mating         "thread all" nut.         This     like     a 5/16" diameter nut that is about 1" long.     Drill a 3/16"     hole near one end and put the T bone handle in cross ways.     It will not fail ever again.     Of course you need a Drill, Vise and Metal drill bits to fabricate this.             I guess after adding 20 minutes of work and about $1.50 in new parts     buying the stand for its price is still a good deal.

works as advertised. Doesn't feel cheap, except the boom counter weight which is really only decorative, but all the screws and adjustments work well. Can't vouch for reliability yet, but for first few usages, no flaws.
