This unit is well built. The neck holder is a little flimsy with the spring as others have mentioned. I like how it flips up as opposed to the tubular stands that flip down. I would have like to have the legs spread out maybe and inch or two more for increased stability.

I took off the rubber feet and filled the tubes with sand for increased weight. All in all I dont think there is a more stable stand out there. This is what you need out in a gig situation since it is much more stable than the tubular stands.

I use it with a square neck resonator guitar and the part that holds the neck is just big enough for it.

I own two of these On Stage Stands, and until now, I've really liked them. I ordered a 3rd from MF, and waited a couple of weeks while they were on backorder. Once I got it, I could see immediately that it wasn't built correctly. The yoke that holds the guitar's neck was welded onto it's tube upside down. If you look at the picture, the spring-loaded arm is on the right side and it moves up and out of the way. The one I got had the spring-loaded arm on the left and moving down. It would not work at all; the arm gets in the way of the neck when it moves downward. OK, so that's a manufacturing error that got past QC. I immediately called MF, and Josh offered to send a replacement. He said there was no need to return the messed up one. The replacement shipped that same day, a Friday, and I had the 2nd one on Monday. It was built the incorrectly as well. I might not have known the difference if I didn't already own 2 of them. And because of how they are assembled, there was no way to flip it over right-side-up. This is where things got ugly with MF.

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7465 Pro Flip-It A-Frame Guitar Stand:

I bought several of these for acoustic guitar (dreadnought & small body) and banjo. They work great and are stable. I was a little worried about the close angle of the base. I've read the reviews that say the stand is unstable and easy to turn over. These are obviously folks who haven't used the lightweight tripod/tubular or a frame stands. This stand is so much more stable...I'm sitting right beside two dreadnoughts, one in a fretrest tubular, the other in my new pro-flip it. There is no comparison. This stand is so much more stable...I can barely push the fretrest (typical cheap tubular/tripod) and it starts at an angle. The pro-flip it stand just sits there really stable. If this stand isn't stable enough for your application, you should get a rack or keep it in the case, or choose more considerate bandmates or somthing. Any force that would turn this stand over would damage your guitar in a sturdier stand.

Only drawbacks to this stand are that it's fairly heavy, and it can bang your guitar up if you're not carefull pulling it out of the stand (hard edges without padding a few inches behind the instrument) but that just requires a more careful removal habit...don't yank the instrument out sideways or you'll see what I mean. Also...it's a little ugly without the instrument in it.

Overall: very stable for it's size and very functional for acoustic guitars and banjo. Maybe not a good idea for death metal stages.

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7465 Pro Flip-It A-Frame Guitar Stand:

The stand is substantially built, and is easily assembled and set up. While the feet are a little bit misaligned (which I could fix), and could stand to be a little farther apart, it suits my purposes--to hold my jazz bass (I haven't tried an acoustic guitar in it). Seems well worth the money to me.

This stand replaces my Hercules, which replaced some of the plastic parts of their stands with a type of foam rubber that deteriorates into soggy, gluey pads that literally stick to your hands and leave glue on them.

This Stand is Really nice and the Steel its made with is'nt that Die-Cast POP-METAL CRAP!! Its Solid and Fully adjustable from the Height to How far the Flip-it arm goes out to hold your neck in place.I like how Well balanced the Stand is once the guitar is in it,the only reason i gave it a 4.5 on Features is because on the Flip-it part, theres a metal tip that keeps it in position which can knick the back of your neck if you lift the Flip-it to High but thats an easy fix with a piece of cloth and tape. They should put a little Velvateen or Rubber cap on that metal tip.But other than that i luv it and will buy more!!! I highly recommend this Stand to everyone!!

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7465 Pro Flip-It A-Frame Guitar Stand:

I have four of these stands and I would not buy anything else. I have one of my guitars at the high school where I teach and my students play my guitar every noon hour. With this stand, I trust that the guitar will be properly put away and will not fall out of the stand. The construction is solid and the stand is well-engineered. It is easy to fold up into a compact size for transporting and it gives me peace of mind that previous stands I have owned have not.
Easy to fold for travel. Stable and well-constructed. Good padding.
              Solid construction and great design.
A very good value and great protection for your guitar.

Comments about On-Stage Stands GS7465 Pro Flip-It A-Frame Guitar Stand:

Excellent stand for Fender, Gretsch, and Dean bass. You need to pull the cord before putting a LTD in the cradle, but you should probably pull the cord on an active bass anyway, so it is really not a problem. Best stand I have ever used. Very stable, converts to a simple A frame by easily removing bracket.

I wish I had found this originally! I purchased a less expensive tube type stand on line and was fully dissatisfied. I found this one and it is fantastic! It has two strong feet and holds electric or acoustic easily. The top has a spring loaded guard to hold and protect the neck! It's easy and compact for travel and quick set up, but mainly to secure your instrument when not in use. I recommended this to every guitar player I know!

I've had A-frame type stands in the past but never with a neck holder built in.

I like the A-frame because you don't have to worry about the U-nose falling off and getting lost.

Now I feel a lot more secure in knowing the ax is being held at the neck as well. Once you get used to the clip it's easy to remove the guitar from the stand.

THE NARROW BASE ARMS SEAMS TO FIT THE BASS BODY BETTER THAN SOME OTHERS WE TRIED AND THE UPPER CLOSED LOOP HELP TO SECURE THE INSTRUMENT AND IS TALL ENOUGH TO SUPPORT PROBABLY ANY INSTRUMENT. THE NARROWER BASE FOOTING IS STILL WIDE ENOUGH TO GIVE GOOD STABILITY.

I was excited to use this stand to store my bass. It looked good and did the job. However the spring that works with the lever that holds the guitar in place eventually broke over time and is now completely broken. I've had the stand for less than 4 months. I sadly can't return it. Oh well, I'll just buy one with out springs on it...

I've been on more stages than I can count since the 60's. I have owned Guitar stands that are total crap at several times the price! This stand is beyond excellent and I don't give out praise that easily. This is everything you want in a Guitar stand and know that your baby is cradled in and loving arms and safe while you are away. I'd give this stand 6 if I could.

Overall this is a well constructed guitar stand, but please beware and do not learn the hard way as I did. There is a clamp that secures the guitar in the stand to prevent it from falling. The problem I encountered was when I raise the clamp a sharp edge scratches the guitar behind the neck. It put several small gouges / scrathes in the guitar before I noticed what was happening. I am much more careful removing the clamp now and the stand works just fine.

As far as my needs are concerned, this stand fits-the-bill. If I needed a second stand, I would order this one again.
Very Sturdy and pleased with the design.
Good Stand. I don't have to worry about my guitar tipping over and getting trashed. Solid stand for the money.

I have owned several of these stands for the past 5 years and I can honestly say they are worth every penny. My only problem until now has been that I need a couple more and haven't been able to find them. They are very sturdy, well made and fold down good for travel. I use mine for everything from my nylon string to my Les Pauls and they all fit great. I'm glad to see them here.

I stumbled across one of these several years ago, and now it is the only stand I use. It is far more stable than those three legged stands on carpet.
