I bought two of these about two years ago for a baritone uke and a baritone uke banjo. The lowest setting seemed too tall for the uke banjo, but I acquired another bari uke, so have been using them for a long time. I eventually discovered that I could make it even lower by not using the slotted area for the set screw, but just backing it out further to alow the "head holder" to drop lower, so it will fit the shorter uke banjo. So, I bought a 3rd one for the banjo. All three stands were in perfect condition. I don't know what the difference between these (On-Stage) and the Musician's Friend model - I suspect they are the exact same, but for only a one buck difference, I wasn't going to take any chances. These are GREAT for shorter instruments.

This stand is very, very unstable with my acoustic placed on it. Don't be misled (as I was) by the other reviews that rate this stand high. The slightest bump from the side and the stand will topple leaving your guitar on the floor. I followed the advice of another review, and shoved a dowel rod in the back leg, lengthening it to 6 or 7 inches. This makes it very stable. I would not recommend this stand for anyone unless you plan to extend the back leg as I have. I've included a picture.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Tubular Guitar Stand:

Good bang for the buck. Construction is good and it has a decent latch for the neck of your guitar. The only real drawback is it seems like it could use just a little more angle to make it lean back more which would give it more stability overall. It holds my acoustic and my electric well enough that I would definitely say you cant' go wrong for the small investment.

Comments about On-Stage Stands Tubular Guitar Stand:

inexpensive stand that works fine with electric and acoustics. I think it will hold up fine for it's intended use. Plenty stable for use indoors. I like a more substantial unit for use on outdoor or portable stage use, of course you can buy three of these for the price of a heavy duty model.

Needed two guitar stands for an electric and accustic guitar and these work perfectly. They are light, easy to assemble, and holds the guitars. They do the job, glad I got them.

                  Good stand while on sale.

It's as stable as other similar stands.

Fit and finish was excellent. No scratches or dents.

                  No funny smells.

It may not work for irregular guitar shapes like a flying v or something snazzy, but it's got a nice wide base and a suprisingly wide neck cradle.
The Neck piece comes with a rubber retainer that fits into reccessed knobs on the ends of the cradle.
