I,ve owned this pedal for about three years now, and I would have to say that over all it is a good pedal. I was looking for something with more adjustability than the pedals I have previously been using, and I will admit, you do have a lot of adjustment options. What I don't like about my pedals are that about a year after I bought them, both pedal boards broke at the hinges, and the anti-slip part of the upper pedal boards have both come apart several time even after lock tighting the screws, and eventually resulted in loosing the screws and some of the rubber discs. I've also wore out the plastic cams. So maybe I'm just extremely hard on pedals. I have been using a Tama Iron Cobra double that I've Borrowed off of a friend, which has similar adjustability, and Is holding up much better than the pearl. My advice is, If your going to spend the money that the pearl powershifter eliminator double pedal costs, buy the Tama Iron Cobra instead. You will be much happier and the price is about the same.

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

This is a very good pedals and i recommend to any drummer looking for good pedals
The pedals are amazing. The feel of the pedals are fantastic!!! i choose these pedals over the DW 5000. I wasn't a big fan of these pedals until i used them in the pallidum in worcester which i beleive its one of the best venue in MA. I <3 the fact that u can adjust the pedals to be have medium or very loose.

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

I have owned these things for over a year now, and I have a few things to say about them. First off, this is a very good double pedal set up for a beginner and just starting to get the feel for double bass. It's definitely a very good "teacher" in a sense. Over the year of constantly playing these things every day, I was able to teach my self to acquire endurance for fast double bass speeds up to 215-220. But, after a year on this thing, I really want new pedals badly. To just start off, the left pedal has a HUGE, and I mean HUGE, lag issue. This is a major downfall with these pedals. You basically have to develop a technique just for your left foot to get accustomed to it, so in the long run, if you want new pedals in the future, it probably wont be the same at all. Also, these things are really starting to fall apart. My last band practice I had major issues with them. The cam on my left pedal was literally, I kid you not, snapping off while playing our songs. How does this happen? The cam is securely, or so it says, in between the chain drive and on hooked on the 'cam-holder' or whatever you call it. During one of my fast double bass parts, this thing just snaps off my left pedal and now every time I hit the base drum with my left pedal it makes contact with the metal plate at the bottom of the pedal (witch is another design flaw, since the slave pedal is SIGNIFICANTLY lower then the right pedal). I had to fix it once again. It's just a pain...Overall, I think Pearl should down the price maybe 70 or 80 bucks. This is definitely not a 300$ dual pedal solution. However, it did teach me a lot in a year of practicing my double bass. Thanks to these things, I would not have been at where I am now in terms of speed, endurance, and efficiency with my double bass

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

They should have a sticky post on this page stating to look a Pearl Eliminator Pedal Package. It has the 2001 HI hat stand included. Currently is just $100.00 more than the pedal.

I got it and like the stand. Only problem is that is hard to tear down and transport. The pedal doesn't easily fold up. It is real heavy too, mostly due to the cast base. As far as pliability it is the best stand I have ever used.

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

I've owned these pedals for a little over a year. I play in a melodic death metal band that has mostly just semi basic double bass lines at around 160. For playing styles like that this pedal is perfect. Once you get past 160 the left slave lags ALOT. Its hard to get momentum with this pedal due to the lag on the left side. The right side is a little better but compaired to other pedals the lag is really the only killer. I do a fair amount of heel toe and triple beats which this pedal can handle well. The adjustability is very wide opn on what you can do with it. Pretty much the only downfall of this pedal is the left side lag. I plan on getting a Demon Drive pedal as soon as i can afford it. The playability on that just blows everything else I've played out of the water

I got this pedal about 4 years ago. Recently, I purchased a Tama Iron Cobra 900 double pedal, but it didn't really cut it for me. So, I sold the Cobra and I'm back to the Eliminator. It is incredibly fast and smooth. The replaceable cams are great too. I use the red ones, and they're perfect for me. I plan on upgrading to the Demon Chain Drive pretty soon, but I'll always have my good 'ole Eliminator as backup!

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

When I first started drumming 3 years ago, I started off with my dad's DW 9000. I preferred these over the 9000 then. I've had these for two years as of yesterday (June 29, 2010). I never tried the other cams for an extended period of time. so I stuck with the black cams. I haven't adjusted anything and I can reach speeds of over 200 BPM, but there's not much use in my style of playing to go that fast. I've had no problems with the pedals except the two shows I played with them, my slave pedal started sliding inward towards my snare stand and farther from my high hat. Other than that, I love them. Very easy to get used to and I highly recommend them. I haven't tried any other top line pedals for more than 10 minutes or so, but these seem to be better than most pedals on the market. Any pedals this price or above you can't go wrong with.

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

I got these pedals and loved them when I first got them, but lately I've wanted to experiment with footboard height and these pedals do not have that luxury. They're great pedals, but there isn't much more to customize than the cam replacements which I honestly do like. A bit less than I expected but an alright pedal.

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

I love these pedals! Bought them about a year ago, then upgraded to DemonDrives after a few months... then switched back to the Eliminators. They're just the perfect balance between response and strength, and even when playing the bottom (letting the pedal fly from your foot and catching it on the way up) it's easy to maintain incredible control. The adjustment options are just as awesome as they are numerous, and I've seen no other pedals that comes close to being capable of accommodating as many playing styles as these. Fast, powerful, slick... I love 'em to death.

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

The Eliminator feels amazing, there is no doubt about this fact. It has taken my double bass playing ability to a new level. Also, the interchangable cams allow me to switch from heavy rock to light funk in just about 7 minutes. However, like most Pearl products, it is not made to stand up to the rigors of just being played. The footboard screws must be tightened at least every other session of play. The same screw that holds the footboard in place has removed itself twice. Also, a crack has appeared in the same exact place on both of the pedals I have played.

        Nice pedals

        By TruthNow147

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

This pedal is pretty sweet. Its nice to have the quad beaters, and the interchangeable cams that allow for a lot more customizability than most pedals that are twice the price. That said, these pedals are not the BEST on the market. Heel-toe methods don't work particularly well if you have foot larger than about an 8 ( mens). The left pedal often lags and seems to have a lot less power than the right, but this can be fixed. I took the spring off of my pearl single pedal, and placed it on the left pedal. I now had three springs on my pedals, which helped reduce the lag, and by tightening these springs, I can actually work out my left leg and make it stronger, allowing me to play much faster double bass on a "normal" pedal.

        Pearl P2002c pedals...good and bad

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

I got these pedals a month ago "used" (they were practically brand new, never been played). Really nice looking pedals, the cams are awesome for every drummer, theres 4 to choose from. (I use the white on left, blue on right), etc. There are many ways to adjust to that perfect pedal feel. Quad beaters are pretty cool. DOWNSIDE: For practically EVERY one of these pedals, the left pedal has a tension problem and lags in rebound. It stops bouncing way before the right pedal. Very dissapointed about that, not too sure how to fix it maybe a new bearing. Overall, not too bad but the slave AS WELL AS the driveshaft really lower the quality and performance of this pedal.

        foot plates

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

i used this pedal for many years, even with the faulty foot plates. i shattered both foot plates within months of using this pedal. don't get me wrong it feels awesome, but the foot plates are made from cheap low quality junk metal. i'm a die hard pearl lover, but this pedal should have been thought out better when it comes to the metal used for manufacturing it. although it feels awesome, the foot plates break very easy and i know many other friends that have said the same thing while using it. how i fixed the situation... was by purchasing the old P-900? foot boards and mounting them on the pedal for strength. since this it has been working well and holding up. although i also had to replace the mechanisim that holds the chain on the sprocket because it also broke. most reading this might be saying this guy breaks stuff or is abusive, but let me just say i have owned many other pearl, DW, Tama pedals in the past and never have i had this problem with any other pedal to date.

Comments about Pearl P-2002C PowerShifter Eliminator Double Pedal:

Let me start by saying that before I ordered these I owned an Axis Longboard single pedal for a couple years. The speed of these pedals is pretty impressive as compared to the Axis. Punk doubles are easy and the off foot double bass pedal is perfectly balanced with the right one. (assuming you set it up correctly which can be tricky), but about 30 minutes of setting it up right is definitely worth it.The beaters that come stock are good enough that I didn't want to replace them, and they have essentially 4 different sounds you can get out of the beater alone: 2 being felt (narrow focused shape vs. broad flat shape). I find the narrow rubber best for my style as far as volume and attack goes. There are still plenty of settings I havn't even tinkered with because they ran so smooth and felt right straight out of the box and just connecting and balancing the doubles. It has replaceable actions for the chain, I'm assuming to alter the weight and quickness of the pull on the pedal. The standard one is great though.Lastly it is very adjustable as far as distance apart and positioning goes. (Especially if you get the Powershifter Hi Hat Stand as well - they are amazing together.)I definitely recommend these pedals to anyone looking for a great set of doubles at not an insane price like the dw9000s, Axis, and others. Smart buyers look no further!.

I was at my local music shop this weekend looking for a new drum set, and a double pedal too. I decided to try out these and the IronCobras. The guy at the shop let me take one brand new out of the box and put it together to try it out. (im not an idiot, i know how to put it together right). I was playing some Black Dahlia Murder stuff when the chain on the slave side snapped. i gave it a 5 in features because it is the most adjustable pedal, but i would recommend getting Iron Cobras, they're cheaper, smoother, and better quality.

I have had my pedal for about 2 years, and it had problems ever since I got it. The screws in the base of the pedal fell out, and when they were put back in, they didn't stay in. The pedal wiggled side to side because of this. I sent the pedal back to Pearl about 2 months ago (december) and I am still waiting for the parts to fix it (february). This will be the last Pearl pedal I will ever own.
