I have copied Bill Brufords deconstructed set-up. My hi hat is now directly in front of the snare slightly to the right above the bass drum. It is so easy to hear, and my hands and arms are now in a natural confortable position. The speed and volume control in this location is amazing, and your left hand is totally free of obstruction. Not having those hi hat cymbals in the way changes everything. I just shifted the toms to the left in the space where the hi hat was. My left hand is free to move like never before, and with two rides my set is now truly ambedextrious. Plus the rides are 6" from the hats now, and the crash directly above can be played easily with either hand. You can do things that are impossible without this hi hat. After 35 years of playing, everything has changed dramatically This pedal has opened up an entire new sound and approach to my drumming. Thank you Pearl and Bill Bruford. If you want to hear the amazing capabilities of this set-up (played by a true master drummer), listen to Brufords band Earthworks live CD Random Acts of Happiness.
The range of adjustment is amazing, pedal height, spring return, chain angle of attack. It also comes with three extra drive cam designs to customise the response. The footboard locks vertically into the frame for transport in the included bag, but the cable and cymbal end are free to get in the way and get damaged in transport. You will have to carry this in both hands. Moving it sucks, but it is worth the trouble for the results. There is no generic mounting clamp included, but that probably lowers the price by $50, and buying the specific clamp that fits your individual setup choice with that $50 makes good sense to me.
This is my first top end Pearl hardware purchase, and the quality is way beyond my expectations! The stand looks like a custom piece fabricated in a top machine shop. Every piece is fitted perfectly, and every little detail obviously very well thought out. The chrome and powder coat finishes are first class. The smooth cable action is 95% the feel of a regular stand, but with the mega adjustments and 4 rates of drive cam, the set-up RH2000 has 98% the response of my DW standard hi hat. All my expensive hardware now looks out of date and a little rough compared to this pedal.
Seemed expensive when I ordered it, but I am sure glad I did. Truly fantastic engineering with top quality fit and finish. Worth the price, in my opinion.

This thing is nothing special, and is definitely not worth the $. Pearl makes great bass drum pedals, but this remote hi-hat is not of the same quality. It definitely is not as smooth as a normal Hi-Hat stand. I am not particular about my hi-hat, however this thig made playing more of a challenge. At this price, I thought I was going to get something I was happy with. If you look what you are getting, this is obviously a ripoff. You don't even get a mount to mount the upper half of the stand. I will be returning mine.

Comments about Pearl RH-2000 Eliminator Remote Hi-Hat Stand:

The Pearl RH-2000 Hi hat stand is one of Pearls best pieces of hardware from the sturdiness to the versatility of the stand. Let's get the bad out of the way first. This stand is hard to place at first and to move. I play with a double bass drum pedal (1 bass drum) and would have no problem using it on the left side, but I use it on the right as both an aux hi hat and "X-Hat." When trying to place the pedal next to my main bass pedal you can do 1 of 3 things. You can 1.)mount it with one leg folded up, (doesn't give the support you need if riding your foot on the pedal. 2.) attach a clamp to it and attach that clamp to a stand or rack (works fine but is bulky), or 3.) use a pearl HA-100 hi hat to bass drum hoop clamp. I use the HA-100 and it works great. The other issue is mobility, it has a 6-8 foot wire that you have to neatly wind with no kinks just to move to a show.
Ok besides those minor issues this stand in phenomenal. I can't say enough about it. It is, in my opinion, the best remote stand on the market. You get interchangeable cams (very easy to install) also with this stand which gives you many options. You receive the Pearl hi hat drop clutch with your purchase. Along with the drop clutch you get the bottom hat stabilizer so no matter what angle you have your stand at, your hats will be perfectly even. The tension adjuster is as easy to use and unscrewing or screwing on a peanut butter jar cap.
I would recommend this stand to any who wants either a normal hi hat stand or an X Hat or Aux hi hat stand. I choose this over just getting a cymbal holder with hi hat mount because I feel like full control is better than just being able to tighten or loosen the hats.

Comments about Pearl RH-2000 Eliminator Remote Hi-Hat Stand:

I love(d) my RH-2000 - until the cable broke. I tried to order a replacement cable through here and many Pearl dealers, but no one has them. I contacted Pearl to find they are on backorder ( which is a red flag ). Just FYI...

Comments about Pearl RH-2000 Eliminator Remote Hi-Hat Stand:

This is one of Pearl's best hardware pieces. I have 15" master sound A customs and they are heavy. This hardware throws them up and down like they were balsa wood. The hack that reviewed them negatively must have no taste or skills. Oh yea he must be cheap as well. These are right priced I put this on a 13" tilt pole and tilt clamp on my DR-503 and I can literally put it any way I can imagine hitting Hats. They are more responsive than any stand I have seen or used. With the drop clutch they just could not be any more versatile.

Comments about Pearl RH-2000 Eliminator Remote Hi-Hat Stand:

I've had this pedal for 2 years now, and it is an excellent add-on to any kit. It has a set of leg spikes, and footboard spikes, and is just as adjustable as its hi-hat counterpart (swiveling legs, tension adjustment, cams, etc...). I only use it as a secondary hi-hat with a pair of 8" splashes to compliment my primary pedal (also eliminator). Great buy. Easy to rack mount with standard clamps. Not sure about stand mounting though, I've never tried that.

    Best I've tried... ever!

Comments about Pearl RH-2000 Eliminator Remote Hi-Hat Stand:

I have been looking into remote hi-hats for a while now. I'm somewhat jaded because I've been trying them since the late '80s back when the technology was very new. The feel was TERRIBLE. In recent years, I've tried the Tama and the DW and remember trying earlier versions of a Pearl Cable-hat and although they were MUCH better than their fore-fathers. They still had a bit of lag and sluggishness to them.Enter the Pearl Eliminator Cable-Hat. All I can say is HOLY COW! I only have about a total of 20-Minutes (5-minutes one day and about 15-Minutes the next) behind one at this past Summer NAMM... but it feels as if there is a solid-rod connection between the footboard and the top hat. I was AMAZED! I don't know how "long" the feeling of "perfection" will last on this unit... but I'll tell ya. I'd use it as a primary in a HEARTBEAT. I have no idea how they accomplished it or why no one has come so close before, but this is the new standard. You owe it to yourself to try one out.

Comments about Pearl RH-2000 Eliminator Remote Hi-Hat Stand:

Great stand that opens possibilities that were not available with the conventional stand. Cable is long enough to place a set of hi hats anywhere on your kit. The legs are adjustable and make it easy to place pedal next to your double bass pedal. Cable and pedal are smooth and work well. Just a little bit of adjustment will satisfy the most picky drummer. You need a clamp and the one they recommend is not really big enough to capture the holder. They should just include the clamp. I have been playing drums for 52 years.

Comments about Pearl RH-2000 Eliminator Remote Hi-Hat Stand:

I'm a fan of all things Pearl, and this stand is no exception. True to the word of Pearl and many of the reviews on this site, the stand feels amazing; blindfolded, I'm not sure I could tell that the pedal is eight feet from the cymbals. Keeping with the Eliminator theme, it has more adjustments than I know what to do with, and is of the highest quality (and it comes with a really cool drop clutch!). A few complaints: the stand is very difficult to mount. The biggest problem is that few multi-clamps are designed to provide the 7-plus inches of clearance needed between the two stands. Also, a multi-clamp that can tilt the top of the remote stand to put the cymbals at an angle might also be handy. Once you've figured out how to mount it, you must figure out how to carry it. The cable is flexible, but not so flexible that it can be coiled into a little ball and stuffed into a standard bass pedal case, as I naively imagined might be possible. Complaints aside, the stand is amazing. The most important things are that it's well made and feels good, and it?s certainly both . Plan ahead when you buy the stand, but definitely do buy it!

Comments about Pearl RH-2000 Eliminator Remote Hi-Hat Stand:

I bought this product about 2 yrs ago and set it up directly in front of me between my 13 & 14 mounted toms. It mounted very easily to my gibraltar rack with a few clamps and an "L" arm. I put the foot pedal but-up against my left long board. I can't be any more happier with this set up & product. The response is dead on perfect. The unit is stable and very well made. It has a bunch of different adjustments to make it tight, loose, tilt it, go up & down...everything you need to get it perfect for your style of playing. Just about the only thing is that you will have to get used to not crossing your arms (depending on where you put it). I can tell you that with this type of set up, if you buy a cheaper version that is not as well made, you will probably have stability & response problems. Buy this and you won't regret it!! This thing RULES! You'll be doing things you could never do because your hands are in a different possition. I love it...wouldn't part with it, recommend it...and will never use a standard hi hat stand again.
Lots of adjustments to play with
    Very hi quality
    Worth every penny
