I recently purchased this stand from another store in June 2012 and thought i made a good buy until i saw it at Musician's Friend, i could have purchased 3 for the same price i paid for 1 at the other store. I'm thinking it can't be the same stand, so i bought one an low & behold, the same identical stand for a third of the price. U Go Musician's Friend For Life!!!

Having had these same units for 10 years now I can say that they self destruct in the "ankle" where the vertical brace meets the feet. 10 years for the price isn't bad, but when a fellow musician comes over with a vintage guitar and it falls off the stand due to the plastic "ankle" they may be more expensive than you want to look at.That said, there's always the "10 years" statement, wherein I've never had a problem. But I've had two of the six fail within a two or three week period, dropping one of my Strats and my SG onto a concrete floor.As long as you're ok with a ten year life cycle (or less), then the price is right and it always works right until it doesn't. I'm not sure about what the surprise factor weighting should be.My cheapest guitar stands have lasted for 20 years without problems and I can no longer find them for purchase.

I wanted some stands to hold guitars in my studio space. These were on a clearance and figured I'd give em a whirl. The bottom line is, they stand up, they hold the guitars and basses, I don't think a lot more is required of a studio stand. Works great for the job I need them to do.

This is by far the best stand that I have used. The padding on the body and neck craddle arms are great. It is steady and securly holds my instrument. This is a great product gives you a nice bang for the buck.
