This is nice for a niche market. I use them for removing rack equipment out of stationary studio racks and putting it in an SKB rack to take to the gig. If you don't swap out your equipment / rack configurations very often, this probably isn't for you. The "what the heck" review guy didn't realize that the screws STAY IN THE RACK strip. What you remove is the thumb-nuts (no tools required) and then swap out the rack gear.
Excellent product and fantastic support from manufacturer. I purchased four sets and received some shafts with manufacturing defects. After a quick e-mail exchange with Rack Release Systems customer service, I had replacement parts in a couple of days via Priority Mail. Highly recommended!
I love these! And if you need this type of product then this is the only one available that I have found. The studs make it a cinch to align my gear and this is the easiest solution I know of for easily mounting gear on stage, in the dark. Sure, I wish these cost a bit less but then I wish everything cost less! A great idea.
Handy as hell! Wish they were a little less expensive. If they were, I'd probably use them exclusively. Only (4) per package.
These are a little expensive; however, they beat using a screwdriver. The trick is too make sure that the "stud" is tight to where the bolt can be taken on or off at will. And... they make your rack setup look very COOL!
Once you figure out how these things go in there, putting them in is a cinch. I only bought enough to try out in my 6 space rack. Now I am ordering about 10 more boxes. These things are great. All they need to do is to add extra washers.
What's "quick-release" about this product? The lovley "enlarged bolt" screws OFF when you turn it counter-clockwise and you're left with a nice little stud sticking out of your rack that still requires a screwdriver to remove. I don't understand the point of the product, it does nothing but make mounting your rack gear more complicated.
