Overall a good value for the money.
Just a Plain Jane mic cable. Good for backline hookups, DI boxes, I wouldn't use them on wired mics. Just my opinion. I'd get a heavier cable for that.
First thing I checked was continuity. All five cables checked well. I'm using these to connect the in-ear monitrs to the stage box, so I got 5 of them to wrap to make a mini-snake from the in-ear rack case. So I start wrapping these together and find I have 4 Six foot and 1 eight +/- foot cable. No problem for me really, but just indicative of the quality control (BTW: they DON'T make an 8 foot cable)
Two XLR plugs and six feet of wire for the price. Almost as cheap as I could build them and no time spent. Again, I'd use these for any static situation such as connecting devices, DI's and even light controllors. I just wouldn't put them in heavy use.

American-made Horizon mic cables are fine cables for normal sound system work. You can buy cheaper Chinese cables that you will throw out in about a month unless they are plugged in and forgotten, or you can spend more for boutique cabling, but you won't likely get more bang for the buck. Like all cables, they develop flaws with use and need to be repaired. It happens; Buy a soldering iron and quit whining. (Incidentally, one of the three conductors in the connector is not supposed to have insulation. It's called the shield.)

Comments about Rapco Horizon Standard Lo-Z Microphone Cable:
I just needed extra xlr cabling and to be honest, didn't want to pay Guitar Center prices. I ordered this cable, got it in the mail 2 days later and used it on stage the next day. It is of very good quality and works great. Save money and get what you need with this cable.

Great cord I use it with my shure sm58
Comments about Rapco Horizon Standard Lo-Z Microphone Cable:
Fine for working musicians or casual players, singers.
These work fine for everyday use and gigging. Not sure that a normal ear could distinguish between this cable and a much more expensively priced one. They are not as strongly built as the more expensive versions but if you band members are like mine and step and pull and twist them, replacing every few years is fine.
Purchased these in bulk previously and out of 10, 8 still work fine.
Great for gigging bands as they are cheap to replace, I use a better grade for cables in studio that I leave connected.
Comments about Rapco Horizon Standard Lo-Z Microphone Cable:
the actual cable is nice, plugs are fair
Rapco needs to improve the size and fit of the XLR-F at the Mic end. These are OK for various runs but about half the time they are quite loose in the connection to the mic, depending on the brand of the mic.... they are most loose on Shure mics which would affect a lot of users. The actual chassis of the plug probably needs to be a tiny bit larger for a snug fit.
Good value iff you dont expect it to be stellar

Comments about Rapco Horizon Standard Lo-Z Microphone Cable:
I bought 4 of these to use with cardioid choir mics in a church. They all sizzle and pop, especially when you jiggle them at the base of the mic connector. Spend a little more and get some quality!
Comments about Rapco Horizon Standard Lo-Z Microphone Cable:
I bought two of the 20 foot cables and one 50 foot cables and I couldn't be happier. Good, solid connectors and well solderd ends. As a man with a family, I try and get the best deal I can and theses cables fit my criteria perfectly. A cable that can do the job I ask and be able to withstand a little abuse. Although there is a slight buzz, it isn't enough to notice or cause for concern. Rapco has amazing cables and I do plan to buy more in the future. And with and added lifetime warrenty, how can someone go wrong. Simply put; Good, affordable cable that will do whatever you need it to.
Comments about Rapco Horizon Standard Lo-Z Microphone Cable:
I own a number of these cables for both studio and road work. I've had great success without ANY failure yet in over a year! I like the 50 footers so all my cables are the same & max length. I'm buying more as I expand my remote unit.
Comments about Rapco Horizon Standard Lo-Z Microphone Cable:
I was shopping for a 20' cable for rehearsal, my 50' is just to cumbersome.Just looking for an inexpensive, shorter cable. The Horizon is reasonably priced and there are many in that price range. But after reading bad reviews about many other cheaper brands. I realized, I have had my 50' cable for like 15-18 years. Used it for gigs, rehearsal, singing and spoken word. It's been plugged in and unplugged countless times, coiled up, stepped on and it still works as great as the day I bought it.Never had one problem. Then it occurred to me that my 50' cable that has lasted and held up like a beast is a Horizon. So why would I buy anything else.
Comments about Rapco Horizon Standard Lo-Z Microphone Cable:
I have used several in my band, and with care they hold up very well. There is no such thing as COLD soldering lol. A cold solder joint is a term for a bad solder connection. The bare wire is shielding which is wrapped around the other wires to "shield" them.
