Wow... I had a Slide that I loved and used for many years. One day, I left it at my buddy's house after jamming, and his wife (thinking it was an empty bottle) threw it away... needless to say, I was crushed. I had found that slide in s small shop in Boston. I went looking at the local Michigan stores and couldn't find anything that came close to the feel of my slide (all others were too big and bulky)... I took a chance with this slide I found on the Internet and have found my slide! If you like the Coricidin type slides, I recomend you check them out. They come in I think 3 different sizes and different colors. The prices are good and the quality is great.
I've owned _alot_ of slides and this is the first one that feels like it was made for my finger. I have skinny fingers, but fat knuckles so it's hard for me to find a slide that not only will fit over my knuckle, but feel tight against my finger. It also looks incredibly amazing. I'm going to be ordering quite a few more of these!
Finally, a coricidin copy that comes as close to the original as possible. execept made from pyrex, you won't break your slide if you accidentally drop it on the stage, a great slide sized to fit any finger you use and a choice of original or heavyweight, you can't go wrong.
Absolutely the finest guitar slide I have ever used. Virtually unbreakable. Very Warm tone. Different weights for electric vs acoustic players.
For 15+ years I've sought out the perfect glass bottle slide. I've combed antique stores and flea markets for the real (coricidin) thing and found only one. I've used several commercial slides with some success. But these are the best. They're flatter, which makes the sound clearer. The length, width, and balance are perfect. Best of all, they're beautifully crafted.
As a high school student my band played almost every song on the first 2 Allman Bros records and I was a Duane freak (he was still living). At that time you could go to the store and buy Coricidan in glass bottles without the childproof lip. This is what Duane used as did I, in my case for the next thirty years including several years as guitarist for Wet Willie. I managed to preserve several of them but broke my next to last one last year and really began to seek a replacement. I now own about 30 or 40 different kinds but my favorite is clearly the RNBC. The size is faithful to the taller originals, but the glass is clearly superior being smoother and more durable. The heavey weight is a great option for even more power, and the colors are just too cool! My search is over and I may even sell my one remaining original..hello ebay!
finally found what I've been looking for in a slide. the smaller size with the thick glass was perfect for my thin fourth finger, while still giving me the tone I was seeking. larger size worked well on my third finger.
if you learned on the old coricidin bottles like i did, this is the slide for you. same size and fit, but better glass, no seems, and so smoooooooth. cool colors, and not as fragile, are big improvments too. i have them in all colors.
