When assembled correctly, it is stable. Mine arrived with all the inside fold up side leg screws (2 Phillips in each of the 2 hinges, per leg) loose or half out. This was the same on both sides. These hinges hold the folding legs to the case and attach to the fold up legs. Legs are hollow square tubing. (There are 2 legs that fold up and you attach a top bar by sliding it on to the legs. That's what holds the guitar neck padded slots. Very simple, it has a push in tab and then snaps securely onto the fold up leg.

The hard part to repair was the top part of each hinge has a small bolt with a very small nut on its backside, inside the fold up leg. Have I lost you yet?

I had to carefully place the backing nut on a piece of tape wrapped around a half unfolded paper clip in order to carefully reach inside the square tubing, while holding a hinge, with a threaded bolt, hoping to get them to line up. I'm patient, but it took about 10 minutes to finally get it done.

Ok so it's secure now. I do like it. The old "Anvil" style outer case and latches seem road worthy enough if you were going to take if on the ah, er....road.

Mine will sit on a folding table and keep 7 guitars within easy reach. At the moment it's holding 2 Les Paul's, 2 PRS, 1 Strat, 1 Melody Maker, 1 Kramer w/bar. That's about 45-50 pounds of instruments. The case probably weighs in at 20-25 pounds. Table is not an issue, and the case feels solid with the guitars. They are leaned in at a good angle, and there are Velcro adjustable separator padded tubes for the bottom of the guitars. Adjustable for width as needed.

I give it 2 stars because of the quality control of the factory assembly issues. Since it will not leave my studio, I can only guess that it would be road worthy, but it does appear it will be.

I'd buy it again,(but I can't recommend it to a friend without a warning) but I'd be prepared to check over the fold up legs carefully. Had I not, I could have spilled a few costly guitars.

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

I thought, oh what a great deal for what looks like a really sturdy product, definitly NOT the case! When it arrived the outside case was VERY nice, but upon opening it, it didnt look all that great the craftsmanship on the inside is horrible. It doesnt even function properly, we put in 3 electrics and one 12 string and it fell over!!! the piece snapped right off! These guitars are not even very heavy! It is a piece of junk and a HUGE hassle to return it! Stay away! Looks good on the outside, built Terrible on the inside!

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

Item serves it purpose. Bought as a rack but the case makes it look nicer plus you can use it on the road. Worth more than its price and its definitely value for money. Could fit 7 electric guitars but need to carefully place and position the guitars though to avoid bumping onto each other. Currently able to fit my 3 acoustic guitar and 2 electric guitars. The only bad point is that one of the rubber pads was a bit dented when it was opened from the package. That was the only downer on the item.

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

Listen up guys! A lot of people are giving this case a bad rep, but I'm sure its because they havent discovered the hidden supports in the top part of the case. Two little arms swing out to grab the vertical stabilizers. It makes it 10x more stable!!. However, the only negative feature is the flat bottom. Most, if not all guitars, have strap holders which should influence the design of this case so the weight of the guitar isnt resting on the strap holder. BUT, if you angle the guitar the right way it seems to alleviate this issue.

It does the trick. Currently holding 3 electrics (Tele, Strat, SG) and 3 acoustics (12-string Guild, j-45, Dean) i wish it had some lower base padding or some kind of locking mechanisms. It is currently in the corner of my studio but I am nervous that if it gets jostled or knocked all 6 guitars will face plant. I wish there was some kind of support guards or something of that nature to cushion the base or keep the guitar secured around the neck.

All in all it does the trick and didn't hurt the bank so if I end up finding a solution that offers more stable protection I wouldn't have buyers remorse.

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

I like it, it's very nice. You have to set up the neck bar side connectors located on the stands lid interior, or else the neck bar will rock side to side. On the bottom, mine has a little skirt with a bar in it that you fip over the aluminum case edge to keep the body of the guitars from getting scratched on that Metal edging. My only complaint is that although it advertises that it will hold 7 guitars, you can really only fit 4 acoustics becuase of the two pieces of wood/foam in the rear of the bottom part, which cause obstruction. It miffs me a bit, becuase I have 6 acoustics but can only fit 4. Otherwise, it does fit 7 electrics, or a combo of electrics and acoustics.

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

The bottom line is this, stay away from it if you're thinking about taking out gigging. There's no way it will last more than a few months at that pace. But if you want it just to hold your guitars at home, I think its great. A little overpriced, but unforuntately there's not many cases like these out there. I wish there were more options.
I looked at this stand for a few weeks. It has pretty subpar reviews just about everywhere. But I bit the bullet and got it anyway. It "holds" seven guitars. I use the word holds very loosely.
This is the issue with this product. I bought it brand new. I opened up, and the latch that holds the lid to the case was broken. It was all warped and the screw was just laying in the case. I tried to screw it back in, but no luck. The latch is too warped. Also the dividers on this thing are pretty laughable. They are just pads that you stick where you want, to adjust for the width of a guitar. They "velcro" down, but they are hardly locked in place. You could probably move them just by taking a guitar out. I wouldnt even think twice about taking this out on the road. However if you're like me, and just want it strictly for home use, where it wont ever be folded down again, or moved - its PERFECT. It's not as sturdy as I would like, considering its holding about $5000 worth of guitars right now, but I think it'll be fine just as a rack for them.
If this thing was sturdier, I think it would be a great value. Unfortunately, given what it is, its not very good for the money. I would probably pay 3/4 of the price for it, and feel ok about it. But nothing more.

Holds 7 guitars nicely. You have the option of placing the velcor dividers on bottom to fit any guitar. The plastic piece on either side that holds the back together could potentially be an issue in the future. I would be more concerned if I was traveling with it but I keep mine in a studio so I don't really have any issues with it at the moment. Its a well constructed case. You will be happy you picked one up.

The first case that I got, the plastic end cap was broken when I opened it. My freind also bought one and one of his were broken as well. I returned it and the replacement isn't broken but the fit and finish is not great. Great idea but they need to put a little more care into the quality of the product.

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

This stand was very reasonably priced and holds my Basses as well as a few of one my Guitarist Guitars that set up on my side of the Stage. It came with several surface cracks, and I sent it back, which M/F made easy and hassle free, and the next one was fine. You do need a bit of room to set it up, but with it holding both my Guitarists Guitars and my Basses, it makes it convienent.

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

Not as sturdy as pictured or described, but not as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be. The problems are not design related as much as quality control related. Opened the flimsy and roughly treated (seemed more like a good while in a warehouse and not shipping damage) original Roadrunner (no overpack) box to see what looked like a nice sized flight case. It wasn't hard flight case quality, but it was OK for transport of something other than an instrument or amplifier. Inside was another story. The components were literally thrown loose into the case. One of the side pads was completely pulled off of the staples. One of the screws that holds the fold up arm in place was flying around the case and turned out to be completely stripped. The top rail did not align properly when put on the arms, so the pop-out pins would not come out to hold in place. Well, I think you get the idea. I ended up putting some time into it (restapling the pad, using a larger screw on the arm and routing the top rail holes a little to allow the pins to pop into place). I was afraid to return it and risk getting one just as bad or worse, so repairing was my best (and least invasive of my time getting the return processed, packed and shipped) option. MF made the situation right by me, so huge kudos to them. As far as design, it is pretty much as described. It will hold 7 guitars, but acoustics, semis and guitars with trem bars in place (especially Bigsby style) may not hold as many or in the same proximity to other guitars as standard solid bodies. The arms do wobble a little bit with a lot of guitars loaded as well. The bottom of the case is the part I don't like. The velcro pads do fine at keeping your divider lines in tact, but since there is no bottom rail system like on the non-flight case types of these the guitars just sit hard on the slightly padded case bottom. This is espacially problematic whith long strap buttons. The angle keeps them up a little, but you still need to be careful removing the instrument without it grabbing on the liner or case itself.

                              It works so far.
Holds 7 instruments, so that's ok. The adjustable inserts for instrument width are useless however, they don't stay put. And with the respective velcro running across the base of the rig (for said inserts), the finish on the instruments has the possibility of being roughed up a bit. I would suggest instead of these adjustible inserts, have inserts molded into the bottom of the rig the width of a dreadnaught. If you have a smaller body guitar you'd end up with a little bit of slop, but it beats scratching up the finish on the lower bouts.
Seems to be sturdy enough. I like that it braces itslef once set up. Inset latches are nice. More sturdy and easier to cary/store/transport than the tubular racks.
Even though I got it on sale, I can't believe the prices on these things these days. It all seems to be a rip off.

Comments about Road Runner 7 Guitar Stand Flightcase:

The quality is just not there. I was thinking of buying another one because I have so many guitars, but the next stand I buy will not be this one for sure.
The idea is a good one, and it does hold the guitars well. Just be sure not to put too much faith in it holding together.
The top bar where the necks of the guitars rest will not snap into the side rails. I've tried everything I can think of, but the two little buttons that are supposed to snap into holes in the side rails will not fit. They are a fraction of an inch off center and will not fit into the holes. As a result the top rail is not fully secure. That is fine as long as it isn't being moved. If you have to move it, be sure to take your guitars out - even if you're just sliding it a few feet.
I'm glad this doesn't sell for suggested retail. It is not worth the price as it is.
