Musician's Friend Scores another 5-Star Rating ;o)

Comments about Road Runner Express Bass Guitar Gig Bag:

Wha?
Bass bag is perfect. My bass doesn't go out often but it now has a safe way to travel when it does. The bag is great quality, sufficiently padded and very durable. For the price it's a major score.

Roadrunner - Great gig bag for the price

Comments about Road Runner Express Bass Guitar Gig Bag:

I'm a professional musician with 30-something years experience, having been overseas, on stage and in the studio. I don't claim to know everything, but I know what works for me and what doesn't.
The Roadrunner bass gig bag easily fits both my Rick and my Fender P snugly without too much room for shifting while in transit. The placement of the handle keeps the neck at about a 40 degree angle from the floor (about hip height) which makes it much safer for my instruments. Use a hard case when you're loading in for a gig with all your equipment, but for rehearsals and studio gigs I like my Roadrunner gig bag.
Well built, heavy fabric. Nicely padded. When I carry my Rick or Precision to the studio I love the fact that the placement of the handle causes the neck to ride high. That's especially important when I'm walking up a staircase with my bass. I also appreciate the handle at the back of the case that allows me to lift my bass straight up in tight studio spaces.

The large front pocket is just okay. I'm less than enamored by the fact that it has just the one pull tab and zips open entirely instead of just across the top. By that design flaw everything just falls out if you open it while the case is standing up.
I own a Fender gig bag that I used quite a lot until the entire zipper pull on the large front pocket one day just came off in my hands. That was after the main pull tabs on the case perimeter each snapped in half - one at a time - while putting my bass away after a session. The Roadrunner's zippers and pull tabs seem to be of a heavier quality. The nylon skin is comparable to the Fender bag. The padded bottom will likely keep the strap lock from boring through this one.
For the money this is an excellent alternative for when I'm headed to the studio with only one bass and don't feel like jacka**ing a hard case into my Jeep. The padding and skin are adequate to protect my bass from scratches and dents. The shoulder straps are adjustable and don't have any cushioning, but that's not a deal breaker for me. This is not a flight bag, but if you're looking for a well made gig bag to shuttle yourself around with, this is a good deal.

This is a great, light-weight gig bag with an extremely ergonomic handle configuration.

Comments about Road Runner Express Bass Guitar Gig Bag:

This bag has a briefcase-style handle with an ergonomic molded grip on the front, right above the pocket.

Very few gig bags have this feature!

That means when you carry an instrument, the neck is pointing UP, safely nestled between your arm and chest, instead of sticking out in front of you. If you're going up a flight of stairs - especially if you're carrying an amp in your other hand - you REALLY appreciate not having the neck dangling out front, waving around at knee level! Perfect for maneuvering through crowds, subway turnstiles, or doors with push-bars.

I agree with a previous reviewer that the way the zipper is configured on the pocket is a little odd, but I adjusted to opening it from the side fairly quickly. Frankly, the advantage of the "briefcase-carry" outweighs everything else for me. If it was only available in Hot Pink or with Hello Kitty pictures all over it, I'd still buy it. No kidding, that handle will spoil you!
Nice light weight! Excellent handle. The zippers look like they're going to hold up - they're heavy-duty.
It's well designed and assembled.
The last bag I had that I liked this much cost ten times as much, and was quite a bit heavier. This one is perfect!

A must buy for budgeters

By ronky

from California

Comments about Road Runner Express Bass Guitar Gig Bag:

This bag was a little better than what I was expecting. It's a good size with padding I feel very comfortable with. The only thing I don't like about this bag is the large front pocket, it unzips all around. I would have liked a pocket that doesnt completely unzip and let everything fall out. The large pocket is being used to store a cable, and extra strings in there (and there is room for maybe two extra cables. The small bag is good for storing your tuner and extra picks (and any other little things you may need). Overall I feel this bag was a good buy with a very tiny con, I didn't buy this back for the pockets

First Bag

By Pocket Grooves-oCqxk

from Greensboro, NC

Comments about Road Runner Express Bass Guitar Gig Bag:

So, this is the first gig bag I've ever owned, and I didn't know what to expect other than a more light-weight solution to carrying around a heavy bass. The two pockets on the front offer great storage. This bag has shoulder straps on the back to make the bass very easy to carry around. The shoulder straps are not padded, but adjustable nylon straps. I don't really mind that, but some people might. The padding seems sufficient, and I'll see over time if it truly is. The exterior material is tough enough to withstand a hot iron while applying a patch. :) I'm impressed with this inexpensive little bag, and am considering getting 2 more in the near future for my other 2 basses. MUCH easier to carry the bass around with this than the heavy case.

Can't beat this for the price!

By Yumpy Gower

from Texas Hill Country

Comments about Road Runner Express Bass Guitar Gig Bag:

I bought anew MF "Professional" bag for my SX '62 Jazz Bass, and it was large enough for that axe, plus maybe an acoustic guitar to boot! It was huge!!...So I bought this case, and it fits the SX like it was made for it. Is very well made, given the price.
