This pickup is a wide load!
Aggressive in its own right, the Rockfield Fat Ass bridge pickup was designed for a specific group players in mind. The players that have those crazy super acrobatic playing styles that we all stare at in amazement. The ones at the gig that make everything look so effortless and easy. As you watch in amazement you say, "Man I need to practice" or my favorite, "Crap, that's it man I quit!" This pickups' custom designed bobbins house larger pole pieces that help transfer string vibration from pulls, bends and leads so the user gets less tonal drop off and better articulation and note definition. The Rockfield Fat Ass has a well balanced overall tone that is mean and bold with major sustain, huge bottom end and cutting mids and highs that jump out at you. Each note is full and rings true from this pickup while you take advantage of a look that is that just plain mean and in your face.
Great replacement pickup for Bridge or neck but designed to compliment the Fat Ass bridge pickup in the neck position. This guitar pickup, like the bridge position Fat Ass has a full round tone that helps transfer string vibration from pulls, bends and leads so the user gets less tonal drop off and better articulation and note definition. This is made possible by yes¦ the custom designed bobbins that house the larger pole pieces. Custom wound with a little less bite but still just as aggressive, this pickup has great balance and sustain with a huge low end response and mids and highs that scream and cut for an tone that is truly inspiring.

That's right highlander, the Rockfield Fat-Ass has arrived! I used to be a die-hard EMG/Seymour Duncan fan, until i heard this puppy! I bought a B.C Rich Draco last summer (sick guitar!) and it comes with the fat-ass and twin rail. A-MAZING!!! Im currently in a touring band, and these babies will be in my arsenal for years to come!
I went out on a limb and bought this for a Warlock guitar project and it sounds Great! It has every bit the power and punch of the more expensive Seymour Duncan humbucker I have in my Fender Strat at nearly half the price. I love getting a great product without the great price tag and I love the Rockfield Fat Ass!
By far superior to the stock pickups in my guitar before. A lot of output for a roaring distorted tone, but still retaining a great clean tone.I had ordered my pickups from another site, planning on getting a mafia for the neck and a fat a** for the bridge, based on their sound samples on the site. Ended up just getting two Fat A**es, which is a little disapointing, but the neck pickup is fine, a lot more bass. The reason I rated features and quality down a bit is because the metal boxes are really bad. If shipped upside down the pickups fall out and crack and scratch the window glass, and the interior of the box was caked with dust.
Man these pickups are unbelievably powerful and tight yet warm and articulate. You can hear each string being picked and it has alot of chug but doesn't get muddy at all. Wicked powerful, I had to turn my amps master gain down some in order to accommodate this beast! I have a Peavey JSX Signature Head, JSX 412 Cab and also use a THD 16OHM hotplate to keep the neighbors and cops at bay. I have a few rigs with active EMG's and I have to say these are even more powerful with their Alnico mags and even more brutal! These came installed in my new Mike Kelley Black Patriot and they can do some seriously good damage!
The height of the pickup is extremely important. The design of this pickup is a medium high output to clarify boosted lows, low mids and sharp highs. Nothing ice-picky. Surprisingly warm and versatile, after playing many different pickups I feel this is comparable to a seymour duncan JB but darker sounding with more cutting highs and crunchy lows, while retaining that same sort of clarity and warmth. Incredible value, please consider this purchase from a long-time guitar player, believe me, there is nothing cheap about this pick up! Great for metal and hard/modern rock.
