Comments about Rocky Mountain Slides Toby Walker Signature Guitar Slide:
I've been playing slide for a year, using homemade bottlenecks, sections of chrome tubing (a bent motorcycle handle)and a few cheap store-bought pyrex slides. Couldn't ever find a good fitting, light and bright slide in the local stores. THIS ONE is light, bright, clean-sounding and ALMOST exactly the right size for my ring finger.
The Rocky Mountain dimensions have a frustratingly wide range, presumably because they are hand-did.
THIS ONE is 33 grams (1.375 oz), 57mm long (2.255 inches, or ~2-1/4"), ~19 mm ID (~3/4") and a wall which runs betwee 4 and 4.5mm.
The shape is NOT precisely cylindrical and the wall thickness varies. HOWEVER, it appears pretty straight at any given point around the barrel.
One BIG problem is that there's large longitudinal crack in the galzing; I sure hope that it doesn't go through to the underlying ceramic, cause I love this slide.
The rocky mountain slides are packing in display BAGS; plenty of opportunity for rough handling.
They need hard pastic shell packaging like the "commercial" slides for a little added protection..
